Kitana narrowed her eyes at the other, taking out her weapons. “Learn respect, fool. My mother was Sindel and my father is Shao Kahn! I trained many years to become a princess.”

“My respect is not freely given, it is earned.” He snapped, his fists tightly clenching as his eyes narrowed. “Shao Kahn was not your real father, you should know that by now.”

“He may not be my real father, but he trained me well. I was his assassin.” She replied with a soft growl. “My real father was the king of Edenia and yet, you believe that I am not made to be a princess? You’re foolish.”

A brow shot up at the familiar voice. “What do you need, Cyrax? I am a busy man, I do not have all day.” He nearly sneered, but refrained from doing so.

“ Sektor. Emotion is what makes us human, it’s what makes us special from other species. Would you take away the one thing that makes you so unique? ”

The harsh demeanor was to be expected, he had grown used to it. That was why Cyrax and Sektor were compatible in partnership, he was patient, especially with Sektor.

“ You say you are loyal to the Grandmaster, but blindly following his orders does not mean loyalty or the correct path. ”

“You are insubordinate. You are drifting away from your path as a Lin Kuei. First, you disobey the Grandmaster’s plans. What’s next? Will you shove a dagger into my back on our next meeting?”

Hints of sarcasm could be spotted in his speech. He quickly flashed his teeth, showing his anger. “I follow the Grandmaster’s orders, I do not give him my feedback to the task. I bring honor to the Lin Kuei… You on the other hand…”

“ I still follow his orders, Sektor. But this? This is not what the Lin Kuei is. I do not think this is right. I…Sektor, have you ever taken the time to think about this? ”

The damn man was stubborn, he knew this, but reasoning was not beyond reach, he only hoped that the other would listen to him.
