The real problem with people fussing over Pluto all the time is it represents the priorities of the public - preserving traditions rather than accepting facts. I really don’t like the “you don’t chose to be trans” thing because it feels very demeaning. it feels like a concept founded in eugenics and ableism. it feels like the only reason they think we deserve any rights or pittance is because they don’t believe we can help it. anytime i see someone try to say something like that about me or the overall community I just see it as “oh, poor soul can’t even help it, we might as well be nice.”

like, why does it matter in the first place? whether it’s a will of nature or chosen shouldn’t matter. we still deserve rights. we still deserve respect. we still deserve not to be murdered and shit at random. the anti-choice logic is simply there to guilt trip people into not wanting to harm us.

choice or no choice, who the fuck cares. it’s greatly irrelevant to what we actually need. if someone says they chose, who the fuck cares.
