ā āāā Cloud relaxes as Elena takes a seat and doles out her woes. This is more of Tifaās expertiseāthe barmaid had no issue consoling customers or raving about their latest adventures, whereas Cloud barely has much to say at all.
However, Elena and Cloud have history, one where they have committed too many crimes and blood still lingers on their hands. Itās this shared past that makes Cloud nod to her. Elena has always been the most personable of the Turks and sometimes he wonders if sheās not being dragged along by Rufus, toted into dangerous situations just to have another meat-shield on the field. Sure, Rufus canĀ say he cares about the Turks, but then why is Elena homeless now?
āSurprised Rufus doesnāt care more,ā Cloud says a little coldly.
The blonde ex-SOLDIER sees the past too clearly with Elena here. He tries to move beyond it by taking the shiny plastic card from her grasp and setting it inside an empty glass in front of her. Likely kept there for later when she actually has a tab.Ā
āWhatāll it be?ā He asks then, more gently.Ā
± No, that wasnāt he, he just-- What point was there denying a slowly seen truth? It was one thing that kept her going- that things were going to be great. That she would do great. She looked just out the door; the bar was just about the only stable thing running in Sector Seven. The children of the sector would have a home she never really had. She was going to assure that. And a bit of snow and blistering winds werenāt going to stop that. Sheād assure that.
The moment she took into consideration, finally got her choice.Ā āIāll make it easy. Just a whiskey on the rocks.ā She couldnāt help just smile just a bit- she normally hated drinking much of the time, but whiskey was known for being warming. Or at least, apparently. Her job paid well, it was just, unlike her colleagues, was thrown into the world with little to nothing. And the only one that could feel that was Reno, though was decently rolling, it seemed.Ā
Though even he likely had been able to stash some Gil away as he had been working for longer. Though by now in the Turks, no one was really higher than one another anymore. Not after all that had come and passed, and the more to come that no one expected. Finally, she continued.
āWeāll all make it out good. It seems the worst of it all is finally done.ā She should have knocked on wood with consideration.Ā ā-Rebuild and persevere is all anyone of us can do. No matter the teams made. Besides, you canāt easily hate the time of cheer among us. We can only go forwardā A time that we can remember all that was too, lost. Because to forget was only to cause repeated history.Ā
She would do her best, and then when she reached it; she would smash it.
