i hope we stop talking about covid in 2021. aside from news about vaccines, updates on CDC guidelines, and just information we need from the experts, i hope we just accept that this is life for now. i hope we stop with the “well, it’s these unprecedented times!” jokes all the time. because frankly, i feel like it makes it so much harder to deal with the more we saturate conversations with it.

on the one hand, how can we not talk about it? it’s shaping everything in our lives! and again, when it comes to public health, poverty, and the absolute horror it is bringing to our citizens, we should keep talking about it. when i say i wanna stop talking about covid, i mean i just wanna talk to my friends and family about a new movie without someone complaining about not being able to see it in theaters. i wanna celebrate new album releases without people bitching about how we can’t see it live. the more we reiterate how bad life is, the worse it all feels and i just can’t take it anymore. because we have to talk about covid in so many aspects of life, i just wanna stop talking about it in every single area.

maybe i don’t mean we should stop talking about covid period. just stop feeling like we have to qualify everything we do, say, and feel with “well, if things were different” because the shitty truth is, they aren’t. and it just feels unbearable to constantly bring up how awful life is now. please. can we just learn how to live for a little while?

why is sia lying about casting an autistic actress? she literally said five years ago that she wrote the part for maddie and i know this because i was active in the dance moms fandom at the time (rip my old url chloeprovesthemwrong) and we were all like “uh...... why would she write an autistic character for maddie to play”

it makes zero sense to lie and say she originally cast an autistic actress but gave the part to maddie after the other actress couldn’t handle the filmmaking process. not only is it a stupid lie, it’s a fucking cruel one. to say you’re making a movie about autism because you care and then peddle cruel stereotypes to get people off your back for casting this little golden child you’re grossly obsessed with is all kinds of fucked up. don’t go see this movie.
