“Take it to the proper authorities.”
“Ya want me to go to the Minnies and bring this?” Mundungus asked, as if the idea was something he was not expecting to hear.
dawnmaywithey:
“I’m looking forward to seeing that.”
“The challenge is on, then,” Mundungus replied, with a pleased smile, and reaching the door of the shop, he opened it up for her.
tristandearbornn:
“Let’s stick with no.”
“Are ya saying that because you’d be saying something mean, or because ya’d be waxing me poetry?” Mundungus’ question was half serious and half a playful teasing.
narcissa-v-black:
“I like their robes.” Narcissa shrugged the question, not doing well with small talk. Navy was one of her favorite shades of blue and it looked amazing on her, and that was the extent of her knowledge of quidditch. Maybe if she’d been more athletic, her parents would have…
“That’s an interesting career choice.” She noted softly. “Do you preform autopsies or…?”
Narcissa’s answer drew a laugh from Mundungus. An open, rich laugh that was genuine and had caught even him by surprise. It took him a moment to recover, but a little chuckle escaped him when his mind echoed her words---I like their robes---one more time. “Sorry,” he said, having recovered and sobered up from his fit of laughter.
“Honest to Morgana, Black, ya are one of the few to call it ‘interesting’ without sarcasm.” And he appreciated, something that could be easily deducted by the pleasantly surprised arch of his brows and the smile that lingered on his lips. “Oh, no. No, no, no,” he answered her question, shaking his head. “I wouldn’t know what to do. I do all the other work. Go to the house, arrange transport, clean up, maybe help with the preparations. I don’t think we actually do autopsies, now that I think about it. We are called to prepare the deceased for their final resting,” he explained. “Cross over in mesmerising style, it’s the company motto. And, by the way, I can get ya a discount if ya are interested.”
tristandearbornn:
“Do you really want me to answer that?” Tristan gestured towards his television, sitting in the corner and scarcely used. “Go for it.”
“Ya know, normally I would say ‘no’ but maybe it would be good for our relationship if we were honest with each other,” Mundungus said, moving to the television to turn it on. Of course, now that he thought about it, it would’ve been better to talk after the show.
dawnmaywithey:
“It’ll take a lot more than that to scare her.”
“I’m glad to hear that. Though, I should warn ya.. I’m really tempted to take that as a challenge.”
royallyrosa:
“Yup.”
The spell cast successfully, the object was now levitating mid-air. Mundungus tried to give it a better look but still didn’t know what exactly it was and what it could do. “Now, what? Do we move it somewhere else? Possibly a pub, so we can drink a pint.”
dawnmaywithey:
“I’ll believe it when I see it.”
“I’m ready to show ya, but I’m afraid I’mma scare your mum with me bottomless stomach,” Mundungus joked.
royallyrosa:
“I do work in the law department. But I’m not a lawyer.”
“Pick it up.”
“See.. ya can see how that could be a reasonable mistake for me to make.”
Mundungus looked down at the thing. “Do I have to?” he asked, voice going to a childish, sulky tone even though he took his wand and got ready to cast a Wingardium Leviosa on the thing. Because he surely was not going to touch it with his bare hands.
tristandearbornn:
“Since I finished school,” Tristan didn’t know who Ren was, and he didn’t really care. “Don’t rob me.”
“Rob ya! Pfft! Do ya think so little of me?” Mundungus replied, putting up an offended expression. It wasn’t exactly above him to steal, nor to steal from people he knew, but from those he considered friends he’d refrain until they didn’t need that particular item any longer. “Any way, what about watching Eurovision? The U.K. is up first, and we can make fun of everyone’s clothes.”
dawnmaywithey:
“Depends. How much cake can you eat?”
“M’lady, there is no limit to the amount of cake I can eat, and that’s a fact.”
lxrd-lucius:
A part of him hoped it would be enough to off the old man - then, Lucius could finally have his inheritance in full. “Alright,” he conceded, slipping out a bag of galleons. “How much, then?”
He gave it a thought, made some quick math in his head, and then settled for a price that seemed fair enough. For himself. Lucius Malfoy could afford the coin, and at least Mundungus was only adding enough coin to turn it a profit for himself and not just rob his ex-housemate blind. “Seven galleons a pint. Reckon a pint is enough for seven small-medium bottles.”
fenwick-benjy:
“All right,” Benjy gave up, shaking his head while laughing. “I’m dropping this, too. But, once again, I’m still curious.” He grinned at Mundungus. “Whatever it is, it must require some fine cleverness. I reckon.”
Benjy chuckled. “Pineapple in everything and on anything, indeed. I strongly recommend it.” He nodded. “But I know that’s not everyone’s thing.”
Mundungus couldn’t help his own laugh. It seemed he kept teasing Benjy with information only to keep being vague about it, and the funny thing was he did not do it on purpose. “Ya reckon right,” he conceded, and let the thought of ever explaining things to Benjy only be a quiet murmur in the background. Tempting but out of reach, for now.
“Honestly... as long as it doesn’t make me sick while I eat it, and it’s not something that is utterly disgusting right away, I can at least try it.” He had been hungry too many times to ever be fussy about his food. “But.. why pineapple? Is there a story behind it, or do ya just like it?”
royallyrosa:
“I’m not a lawyer.”
Mundungus turned to Rosa, a look of surprise on his face. Pleasant surprise. “You aren’t? Don’t ya work in one of those Law Department down at the Ministry? I always thought it was because ya’re a lawyer.”
carolyn-wilkes:
Carolyn nodded, making a mental note; she had every intention of looking into Mundungus’ claims. “It sounds like you’ve been doing this for awhile,” she commented, with an interrogative note in her voice.
“Don’t we all, in a way? People are always seeking something from one another, and some of us just make it a business out of it---helping others to find what they are looking for,” Mundungus replied, with a little shrug of his shoulders. He had been doing for a long time, indeed. Almost his entire life, though it had morphed into a business only since his late Hogwarts years. “Sometimes it’s just a matter to know where to look, innit?”
narcissa-v-black:
“I live nearby.” Narcissa shrugged and exhaled a little. Although she did enjoy talking about herself and her job, she wasn’t sure how much information she should volunteer to this ex-Slytherin. It was always hit or miss with individuals from her alma mater. Turning the question, she leaned in slightly. “Where do you work? London is a pretty vague area.”
“But now I have to know if ya are a Puddlemere fan,” Mundungus teased, with an easy smile. He took another sip of vodka, a bit stalling at her question. Talking about his job didn’t always go well with people. Which was funny considering this was the legal one. “Knockturn Alley,” he said, finally, glancing at her to determine her reaction to it. “I work for the Undertakers.”
dawnmaywithey:
Dawn looked at him, her brow slightly arched as he went off about the bus. “Okay,” she laughed, “Must be some pretty special bus.”
“It’s just up here.”
“It is,” Mundungus replied, with a firm nod, but laughing too.
Her words had him look ahead, to the storefronts. “By the way, how many cakes are we going to taste? Is there a limit?”
