Main Character 1: Avian
Masterpost
Avian is the first and primary main character. The story takes place from their perspective. They are a monster.
Physical Description
Avian has three different forms, instead of the two normal monster forms. They have a Monstrous form, an Imperfect form, and a Humanoid form.
Monstrous:
Avian's monstrous form is 18 feet tall, with long, willowy limbs. They have clawed hands and large falcon feet. Their claws are black, the skin on their palms a midnight blue. They are covered in bright red feathers, save their feet and the palms of their hands. Their mouth, nose, and ears are not visible, covered by feathers if they even exist at all. Their eyes are sunken in, clear of feathers and a light ice blue. Their eyes have no pupil or iris, simply a flat blue. They have wings attached to their back, a wingspan of over forty feet, that stretch above their head and brush the ground when they are folded back. Their wings are the same midnight blue as their skin.
Imperfect:
Their imperfect form is about 8 feet tall. They have long, silky black hair that almost looks blue in the light. Their skin is pale, and they have androgynous features. They have sky blue eyes the same color as before, and the pupils are slitted like a cat's. They have feathers that thin out near their face, hands, and feet. The feathers aren't on the underside of their arms or their stomach, but they do cover the leg. They're the same vibrant red as the monstrous form. Their wings shrink with their form, keeping about the same ratio of height to wingspan (about 20 feet instead of 40). Their wings are almost pure white, as though all the color was pulled from them. Their limbs are longer than the average human's, and thinner. Their nails and teeth are black. Their feet are human, instead of talons.
Humanoid:
Their human form is similar to their Summoner's in many ways. They look physically similar, like twins, though avian is far more androgynous in physical features. Their hair is long, thin, and silky. It falls to about their waist and is a plain black. It's straight and flat, and they typically have it tied up and out of the way in a messy ponytail. Their skin is pale, far paler than their Summoner's. They have charcoal eyes and a thin figure, though not quite so willowy as small. They're taller than their Summoner by a few inches, just over 5'6". They wear a plain white shirt and black leggings, and they don't have any shoes.
Abilities
Avian has several abilities as a Monster, more so than the typical Monster. They have their Imperfect form, their Soul Weapon, their Monster Ability, Soul Weaving, Innersight, and Growth.
Their Imperfect form is somewhere between human and monster, and the abilities show as much. While Monsters can only summon their Soul Weapons in human forms, Avian is able to summon it in both their human form and their Imperfect one. It is significantly more difficult for them in their Imperfect form, but it can be done. The Monster Ability is only accessible when in the monstrous form typically, but Avian has access to a weaker form of their ability in their Imperfect form.
Their Soul Weapon is a shield, the same as their Summoner. The shield is unbreakable, though otherwise has no remarkable abilities. Avian has difficulties summoning their Weapon even in human form, typically resorting to adrenaline in order to pull it out.
Their Monster Ability is hiding. They basically become invisible, eyes passing over where they stand. They aren't silent, and must take care to mask the sounds they make. And there are other ways of tracking them, ones that don't use sight. In their Imperfect form, ones with a strong connection to the Inner can see them. This means Hunters, Summoners, and other Monsters can see them like that. They are rendered totally invisible in their Monstrous form.
Soul Weaving and Innersight go together. These are granted to anyone with a strong enough connection to the Inner. Avian has the ability to see into the Inner Plane, see the souls that reside there. Soul Weaving allows them to manipulate the Soul Matter they see, whether that be the threads of living creatures or the matter floating in the aether.
Because Avian was split from their Summoner at birth, they had no previous memories to work from, and no instincts to guide them. They were an actual child, in form and in mind. Because of this, the Inner granted them a rare but not unique ability. The ability to grow, change, progress. Their monstrous from grew as their humanoid one did, starting from the size of an infant to where they are now, the size of a giant.
