I post screenshots from games that I have played, mostly otome games but also other games such as Twisted Wonderland, so there WILL BE SPOILERS.
You have been warned. I cannot possibly put a big fat spoiler warning on every single post. This is a general reminder.
So every tag with Elbert (IkeVil) will have spoilers from his route, events included, and every tag with Alfons will have spoilers for any of his routes, etc. etc.
I CALLED IT! I was like, “What if it was drugs, and not a cursed ability?” Because when I first read that they died smiling I was like, “Damn. They’re high as fuck”.
Hello friend! Sending an ask so that I can have many opinions on this as possible!
It is said that the curse bearers unlock their powers by experiencing a traumatic event (well, with exceptions like William and Darius etc.).
Does that mean that there are curse bearers who just… never awaken their abilities and die not knowing they were ever curse bearers? And how traumatic is traumatic? How traumatic does the event have to be? Because (and I’m gonna spoil a bit)
Roger saw his friend die
Ellis I think saw his brother die..?
Jude was tortured as a child by his drunk dad and his sister got sold off by said drunk dad (not sure if this was the exact cause of his curse emerging)
Hi, lovely!
There are four innate curse-bearers: William, Darius, Nica, and Ring.
Their curses were immediately present at birth, and the circumstances surrounding their births was no more (or less) traumatic than any other human baby (don’t tell Darius that he is, in fact, still human 👀).
It would appear that there’s only two paths leading to curse onset (innate unluckiness at birth or traumatic activation later on), but I feel like Roger would say the sample size is too small to draw a conclusion.
But let’s say that’s the case.
For the camp that developed their curse after birth, if there needs to be some sort of catalyst where the mental load is just too much for the psyche to handle…we should also remember that onset has to directly coincide with the death of the previous curse-bearer.
That means that there is no possible escape since all curse-bearers must die. Because of this, we also know that there can be no curse which grants immortality.
For instance, both little Jude and little Alfons lived with unimaginable trauma.
According to this theory, what they went through still wouldn’t be “enough” trauma because in both of their cases, the person who held the curse before them is still alive.
That means that no matter what went on, no matter how bad it got, something far worse would always be waiting around the corner to break them the second the previous bearer kicked the bucket, thus transferring the curse.
This would also mean that if something good occurred in their lives, it couldn’t possibly last, because it would need to give way to something terrible “enough” occurring at the exact moment of the previous curse-bearer’s death.
Alfons’ cat and Jude’s sister’s safety could only last as long as some unknown person somewhere in the world continued to exist.
But let’s make Roger proud and say that this small sample size of sad sack curse activation doesn’t apply to other non-innate bearers.
Even if a current curse bearer, who wasn’t born cursed, somehow went through life with nothing but pleasant experiences, the curse propagates itself no matter what, so it would still go right to them at one point or another.
As long as there are people, there will always be a new host because the nature of curses is to endure.
As for my personal opinion, I think the traumatic onset is just a coincidence. You have brand new babies who haven’t even been on earth long enough for something traumatic to happen, and they’re saddled with curses right off the rip.
With those who got their curses later, they’re able to describe what it felt like because they could form the thoughts and words to do so.
We naturally have no idea how the babies felt as they were cursed. They could have very well experienced similar things and the people to took care of them could have written it off as a baby simply being inconsolable for one reason or another.
do we ever hear about leona’s mom? i know falena runs the palace and their dad is bedridden, but how about their mother? thank you! i hope you’re having a good day 🩷
Hello hello, thank you for this question! 🦁
Leona's mother has maybe only ever been mentioned once in the entire game, in Book 7. Details here!
💬 0 🔁 14 ❤️ 79 · Not sure if you've already answered this question, but was it ever confirmed that Leona's mother is dead or is just a pop
In summary:
There are theories that Leona's mother might be dead, and the one and only time she has been referenced was not enough to confirm or deny them.
Twst is generally very careful with its wording, being intentionally vague in ways that can be difficult for the English language to follow (ex: the VDC choreography), and in the scene where Leona refers to his mother he is quite possibly referencing something that she used to do in the past but does not longer (for an unspecified reason), or he might be talking about something she used to do before and still continues to do to this day :>
Is Leona's mother a mage? Was she a commoner before becoming queen, or was she already royalty? Are there political reasons why she cannot rule the country while her husband is bedridden, or is Falena doing so because she is dead?
There are even theories that she is/was partially or entirely fae to explain why Leona has slit pupils (like Malleus and Lilia) while Cheka's are round, is/was the king's second wife or mistress, Leona and Falena are half siblings, that is why they are so far apart in age and part of why Leona has been looked upon with such disdain by his own kingdom since he was a child, etc.!
(Note: Yana has confirmed that Leona's eyes become round, too, when he is in dark places.)
He has vertical slit pupils that become round in dark places. Round ears that face forward, as he is a carnivore.

In Summary: we do hear about Leona's mother, but only ever once in six years of Twst content :> Maybe more to come one day!
Hey, question - are there any queer LIs in ikemen series? I know William is pansexual given he doesn't care about genders & Alfons is bisexual because he said he plays with both men & women. Azel's sibling Qamar is a transwoman. Like are there other LIs canonically explicit like these are??
Hi Precious! Yes, there are!
In addition to the Ikemen you’ve listed, we have Victor, who is non-binary:
Next, we have Yuki on the upper left, and Haru/Kirisato on the bottom right, who are both gender fluid.
Sasuke on the upper right has made repeated mention of being in love with Ieyasu separate from his rabid fanboyism.
Sid, on the bottom left, makes up one half of the prototype for Elbie and Alfons’ relationship, making frequent flirtatious remarks about delicate, blond Louis.
Of course, we can forget these three:
Between Nobu’s wife Kicho on the left and Ranmaru, with whom he shared an intimate connection called nanshoku, I’m surprised that Nobu has any time for you!
And then there are the “possibles”:
Both Liam and Ellis would be willing to engage in romantic activities regardless of gender, for the sake of pleasing a person, not necessarily out of their own desire for the opposite gender.
Momo has made unprompted comments about how cute Ranmaru is, but it could also be looked at as trying to antagonize the ninja because they definitely don’t get along.
Mitsuhide has talked about pleasuring hostages of unspecified gender as a form of torture, to extract information, but he could simply look at it as a day job.
Finally, there’s Elbert, whose desire to have Alfons join your romantic play depends on the context:
