The Varying Degrees of my Tolerance Levels

I have all the tolerance in the world for people that don’t ship any BTS member.  Seeing Jikook as a couple does take watching BTS content and seeing their progression. Minus GCFT there isn’t just one moment that makes them real, and if you are a hardcore Kpopper you may just simplify things to fan service.  While I disagree with this analysis I tolerate it because it’s ultimately harmless and I can’t force someone to take the time to watch content and see it.

I also have tolerance for the more insecure Jikookers that teeter between believing they are a couple and not for reasons such as not seeing them hanging out as much anymore. These individuals lie at the very edge of my tolerance but they are also harmless and probably very young and don’t understand relationships well. They see Jikook as a trilogy  but since the final volume hasn’t been released yet they suspend belief. 

Who I have ZERO tolerance for are insecure Jikookers that are insecure because of Taekook. I actually struggle to believe these people are Jikookers at All. I’m more inclined to think these are taekookers in disguise because who in their right mind goes from shipping Jikook to taekook???!! There’s literally nothing Romantic about Tae and Jks relationship. They are so obviously just friends that it’s comical to think they’re people existing that think otherwise. Taekook proof is : they hang out with each other! That’s literally it! 

With the plethora of evidence we have from Koreans themselves that they lived together, the numerous sightings of them on couple holidays, them wearing couple outfits, GCFs, Jikooks own words that they are always together,  I can’t see how anyone would then say no Taekook are a couple because they’ve been hanging out more recently ! Like the math isn’t mathing. One doesn’t become a Jikooker-watch GCFT see how JK negatively reacted to JM being busy etc. then look at recent events and think OH MY Tae are friends doing friend things…this must mean Jikook and all that we have must not be real and Tkk must be because we’ve seen that they hang out mostly in groups and they shared a car once…😒 y’all these aren’t insecure jikookers these are taekookers LOL don’t let them fool you! 

I’ve been in this fandom for a very long time. Taekookers are known for lurking on Jikook blogs and accounts and pretending to be harmless insecure jikookers. They even create dummy profiles with the bare minimum of Jimin and JK related post to convince you they are who they say they are but push and prod enough and you’ll discover they are taekookers.

I write this because I just encountered one on my blog! I deleted their comments to some of my post but my gut was telling me this was a taekooker. I went to their blog and like I thought they have 2 Jimin photos posted and 1 jk photo. It was a new account and no bio. Not saying true jikookers don’t lurk, I was once a lurker,  but because I’ve been here for so long my spidey senses were tingling. I could be wrong but I strongly doubt it. They come to our blogs to spread chaos and confusion. For us true jikookers it makes us angry and for those genuinely teetering Jikookers it makes them more insecure bc it makes them feel like they are not seeing something and maybe their perception is what’s off. Don’t listen to them don’t engage them. 

I will engage an outright Taekooker but I will not engage an “jikooker” insecure because of taekook. 9 times out of 10 these are taekookers in disguise coming to our spaces to spread chaos! 

Word to the wise! Every blogger should delete and not engage them! They spread chaos and sew seeds of discontent and it always leads to us bickering amongst ourselves.

I as a person that loves to debate and telling you don’t engage them! You can’t debate a person dishonest about their identity…so delete their comments and asks and move on! 

I have seen this horse and pony show ! Believe me taekookers are losers with no life and are actually so insecure in their ship that they come to our spaces to shut us up because they don’t want to believe taekook is t real and we make too much sense! Delete and don’t engage!

I will delete any comment from what I perceive to be a fake jikooker. I don’t mind disagreements but I have a good eye for snakes and wolves.

korean jikookers are going crazy because of what jungkook said to jimin when jimin was being flirty with him. they're saying they can't explain but apparently the "you're ridiculous" translation isn't accurate enough? can you try to explain it better for us please 💘

Hi!! I'm really glad I've been getting asks about this moment because it was one of my favorites. What Jungkook says to Jimin is "별꼴이야" which can translate to "you're ridiculous", imo, but what makes it hard to translate is that this 'ridiculous' has to be delivered in a very specific tone to convey the meaning of 별꼴. Again and again, I keep finding that the show's subtitles aren't wrong, but they can't convey the subtleties in Jikook's interactions. (This isn't to blame the translator, it's a common ocurrence with subtitles due to their concise nature!)

별꼴 is an unexpected, bizarre thing. One of my favorite examples to describe the feeling of this word comes from this dictionary:

가:저 사람 봐! 이 추운 겨울에 반소매 티셔츠에 반바지만 입고 있어.  look at that person! They're wearing a short-sleeve T-shirt in the middle of this cold winter. 나:정말 별꼴이다 They're really crazy/that's ridiculous/what a weirdo, seriously

As you can see, there are many ways to translate it, but they all convey that same meaning of 'you're being weird/ridiculous.'

Now, Jikook. To nobody's surprise, they're flirting. I think Jimin is pretending they're at a bar and he's paid for JK's drink to get his attention/flirt with him. So he's faking to be the stranger that paid his drink and waves at him coily from the other end of the bar (what's up with these guys and roleplaying...) Then, JK says 'you're being ridiculous' with a huge grin on his face.

What I think is making K-Jjkers crazy is that this response is heavily flirty as well. It can be used when couples or someone is being too cheesy or 'cringy'. JK's response is giving 'don't say such nonsense *blushes, smiles, twirls hair*'. He's flustered. Jimin fakes offense to his comment by turning around, and they break into giggles. You see what I mean? he's not really calling him ridiculous at all.

As Jikookers, we've seen this sentence used in the same way once before. Remember "my favorite thing these days is, hmm... waking up and seeing Jungkookie?" and Tae's response, "BOOO that's nonsense!" He said the same thing, 별꼴이야. It can be used when couples or someone is being too cheesy or 'cringy'.

In sum, Jikook be jikooking, anon.

This episode was the softest and most domestic thing I had ever seen. I really just love the slow paced episodes with Jimin and Jungkook where they just get to do and find pleasure in the smallest things likes walking around, taking the train, eating and just playing in the snow. I love how these two seem to have fun no matter what it is they are doing, even if it is just sitting around on their phones, talking, listening to music, it just always feels like they are fine with doing anything as long as they are together.

Let nobody ever convince you that these two don’t have the deepest bond. The way they just understand and get each other is so beautiful

And the INSIDE JOKES….they have a ton of that. The way Jimin starts something and Jungkook immediately understands what he is doing ohhhh! The way in every new location we have Jimin being obsessed with another one of Jk’s songs. In NY it was Seven, in Jeju it was 3D (peuriri) and now in Sapporo it is Standing Next To You. They are honestly so adorable.

I love the way Jungkook couldn’t stop talking about how happy he was, I love the way he said he wanted to come back to Tokyo to relive the beautiful memories they had last time on their first trip together. I love the way Jungkook couldn’t stop talking excitedly about their military service and most importantly I love how happy and content they seemed around each other. Their little kdrama moment on the train was so beautiful and I really wish we saw Jungkook’s face when he leaned on Jimin’s shoulder🥹

When anyone tries telling you that enlisting with Jimin wasn’t Jungkook’s first choice, show them this……

Food for Thought

Just going to put this out there....If I planned a trip with my "close friend" and another "close friend" wanted to join I wouldn't be that bothered by it. I would probably be excited.

The only way I wouldn't be all that jazzed is if one) I didn't really care for this other "friend" or two) I planned this trip for just me and my boyfriend and then out of the blue one of my friends asked/demanded they join. I'd be irritated by that. Maybe not livid but definitely irritated.

I honestly can't imagine being irritated at a friend wanting to join my trip for any other reason. I actually prefer if more than one of my friends joins me on a trip...takes pressure off.

THE BIGGEST RED FLAG. . .

When people say "jikook" aren't that close the alarms in my head go off. People that simply don't "ship, but love BTS would acknowledge their close bond and reduce it to two guys being super close...BFF's.

When people say crap like "JK hate's JM," "JM is suffocating to JK," they aren't that close, they are just for cameras etc. etc. I know for an absolute fact they actually see Jikook as something more than friendship and are for some odd reason threatened by this fact. Therefore, they don't stop at saying Jikook are just friends they diminish their relationship to 0.

They know their interactions can't be explained away by friendship so they make their interactions some elaborate scheme, a one sided crush, a ploy, a cover up campaign. It's the only way they can rationalize the suspicious behavior they witness.

No rational person can view BTS content and walk away thinking JK and JM aren't at the very least extremely close.

i for once want to get the opinion of a "rational" jikooker who knows how to take a step back and take certain things for what they are and i wanna know your opinion or interpretation of jikook in chap2 and them not meeting and also that conversation they had in the car about that please.

And you thought I'm that rational person? Funny.

You know, there's something I always disliked about being in this fandom space. I mean, there's plenty of other things, don't get me wrong, but this one in particular really irks me. It's the need for approval, for confirmation of one's thoughts. There's a severe lack of independent thought. It might be hidden under apparent strong opinions, but when you look at how those opinions are spread to anon messaging to bloggers everyday, that's a sign that the complete opposite happens.

Jikook as a kpop ship always has to be questioned. At this point, I think it's part of its narrative as a ship. But what's curious (and stupid) is that the hardest line of questioning comes from the ones who consider themselves interested/curious. But make no mistake, this is not done for the sake of not becoming delusional and discard any rational thought. It happens because of the need for approval.

You sent me this ask because you hope for me to agree with your own thoughts about jikook and what that conversation in the car means. Not for them actually, but for you. And you're not the only person. A sure sign of fandom insanity is debating for over 2 weeks now a conversation that is not only heavily editated, it is mediated as well. It takes place in the context of a show for fans in which participants are two people who will never reveal everything about their lives. And on top of that, there's an intentional need to ignore that people can speak in hyperbole, that people can ommit or say one thing that actually means more or another that only the other person is capable of understanding the nuances of that.

Communication is complex. We do know that because we engage with it everyday. Except we forget all that the moment we have to talk about this specific ship. We forget a lot of things about human behavior, relationships, etc. It is an intentional act. So we start writing fanfictions. We start making relationship timelines. We start taking about temporary or definitive break ups of a ship that hasn't even been confirmed as a couple. At this point, shippers operate into this alternative universe sphere, canon adjacent but instead of doing it on ao3, they use their blogs and anon messages for that. But hey, fanfics on ao3 are a lot of the times the work of talented writers, while 500-1000 words essays on tumblr are simply a complete waste of time after the first paragraph.

Is this what you would consider a rational perspective? Or should I start writing down a timeline of all the times in which JM and JK have met in "Chapter 2" up until NY in July? (As if in reality their lives are actually separated that clearly, as if a break in band work completely defines their personal lives, jesus christ!). So, should I note down all the public events that they've been to? And to draw a conclusion from it to prove or disprove that the amount of times they've seen each other is reflective or not of what they said in the car when they left for their trip? Of course, we should ignore that there's an entire life outside of what we see.

And that's the thing, you know? We all supposedly agree that they actually share little of their lives with their fans, but practically? The fandom doesn't really give a shit. Because of the classic parasocial relationship we have developed that makes us believe we know everything there is to know.

What we are allowed to see and what we hear from whispers here and there should allow us to realize that no theory over a supposed relationship is better than the other. Believing they are just friends, that they have broken up, that they are fwb and so on is in no way more rational that believing they are together.

What does this mean? If none of us are wiser? It means we have a choice. Some are choosing to be losers or little bitches crying in anon asks about their "insecurities" over a ship. Some are choosing to look at this ship as a duo that includes two people who have really good chemistry and who match each other's freak.

I've always been in the latter category, I thought that was obvious and I've said it before. If one day Jimin makes a public statement that he's marrying the love of his life, a sweet girl that is also the mother of his 5 secret children, then so be it. And if one day, Jungkook shows up one day after he decided to run away and join a bike gang where he met his boyfriend, then so be it. If somehow that next day, a jikook clip would turn up on my tl in which Jimin is brushing his teeth while straddling Jungkook, my reaction would be "well, jikook fuck. Often". You know why? Because for me, the public life of stars and what they choose to share is entertainment. A travel show, a wlive, concerts, these are all forms of entertainment. I do not consume my entertainment by being a loser on the internet, pondering if my assessment over two people might be fucking is real or not or is approved by other people.
