The main reason I am moving to a multi-muse along with a “refresh” sort of deal is that after these years of throwing this story together and hoping that it works out, I realized that my skipping ahead in said story killed a lot of my mood to keep writing. As much as I enjoyed the characters and their changes (especially Elysia’s), I just couldn’t get myself out of this weird funk and it wasn’t until I made the choice to “start over” that i felt my mind clear and for the first time in months, I actually felt inspired to write again. 

I will admit, my story has been a mess. So much going on, so much re-doing, re-plotting, taking out bits that didn’t make sense, and overall, just getting frustrated when something didn’t turn out as I liked. There was things I wanted to do but because i had already past that point in the story, it wouldn’t make sense and some character development i didn’t like as much. 

While I’d like to keep some of the relationships and threads, I also understand it’s been a long time since i actually wrote here so if you wish to unfollow and not follow the new blog, I understand completely. I’m doing what I want is best for me and my writing/story. 

I appreciate all the followers I’ve had over the years and the span of Elysia being a single character blog but I really want to get the rest of the cast out there and the story behind it.

It was way too early in the morning to even begin to form coherent thought, and yet here she was; wide awake and ready to take on the day. Maybe she had just gotten used to being able to sleep in… possibly doing whatever she wanted without much adult supervision. She knew that Gideon and Manna wouldn’t approve of her slacking off on chores and homework, but they weren’t here so-- However, Elysia was here, so she knew she needed to behave. Thus why she currently found herself awake, though she had to admit she was curious to see what Elysia was talking about.

“Elysia– It’s way too early to be awake…” she whined, though it was evident she was excited. She was dragging her feet a bit, though did start to pick up her pace due to the excitement radiating from Elysia. “Oh? OH? Aha! What kind of surprise is it, Elysia? I wanna know–!”

She was about to continue, but paused when she saw her expression change from amusement to a more solemn look. She glanced over to see what the other was looking at, and found herself frowning slightly. So, that was it then?

This was not something he hadn’t expected. Kale yawned slightly as he gave a small wave. He knew Elysia had been lurking around for a bit, but he wasn’t aware that she was still in town. He had figured she had left sometime after he and Sheridan had headed out, but apparently he was mistaken. He had come to expect her blank expression, but to hear her sound chipper was… strangely odd. 

He shifted his pack slightly, glancing over from Airey and then back to Elysia. “…Hey there, Elysia, Airey. What’s up? Didn’t think you guys would be up this early…”

Deciding it was best to be civil and keep the mood up, she replied back with rather ease, “We’re just heading out. I thought I’d...oh, I don’t know, surprise Airey with something.” There is a moment where she doesn’t speak as her eyes met his. She wondered if Kale would be too busy for the offer she was able to put out but one never knew unless one tired so after a second, she took a deep breath and took a chance.

“If you want, it’d be nice to have one more person along the way. In case we run into trouble.” Which was very likely, know her and Airey’s luck. Still, it wasn’t that she wanted him along, it simply felt wrong not to be inclusive. And despite any ill feelings she felt towards Kale, he was, overall, still a good guy. 

Glancing toward Airey, Elysia clapped her hands together and smiled. “What do you say, Airey? Think we can drag Kale along with us? Three is definitely better than two.” After all, it wasn’t setting a good example if she constantly was at odds with Kale. Airey seemed civil enough but Elysia was close enough to the girl she could still see some uneasiness around the male.

“I promise, it’ll be fun. And I can say you will be feed, so think of this as a nice outing so you can relax.” Something these two definitely needed to do after what happened.

Obviously she had decided to stay. After what had happened, there wasn’t a reason not to. It was especially important since she wasn’t really doing anything else and more than anything, Airey needed that pillar of support. While she wasn’t the girl’s mother or anything of that sort, it went to say she cared for for her well-being. So for a while there, Elysia simply helped out where she could with the cleaning, sorting out and moving things around. Cooking was something she was especially good at and keeping the mood from falling. Not that was particular easy, considering the small tidbits she had picked up but she was resolved to do some good.

Hence why she was tugging at the girl’s wrist, pulling her along after breakfast. “Airey, come on. Don’t be such a slowpoke. I have a surprise for you!”

With a grin on her face, they were just heading out when they ran into someone else, said smile disappearing from her face.

“Ah...” Her eyes met the male’s, staring as Kale had just returned from what was likely a job. Eyes glancing to the floor before resolve took over and she looked back up at him, saying with a bit more chipper tone, “Welcome back, Kale.”

Been a while, huh? Don’t worry, though. I haven’t given up. I took some time away so I didn’t completely lose my muse for Ely. Going to tidy up my blog and probably do a soft reset since I skipped a lot to write her later down in her canon. While still possible to write in that verse, that’ll be another issue to deal with later.

For now, I’m going to fix up my blog, unfollow a few blogs and probably do a smol promo. If you want to stick around for that, great. If you forgot this blog existed and want to unfollow, that’s fine too!! Clean slate for everyone!!

it’s wavering, overflowing and consuming her thoughts, fists clenched as she tries to keep herself from screaming: never in her wildest dreams she expected it to happen, let alone after spending that much time without seeing each other. the sun wavers, floating around its current master with something akin to worry as they stare, though no motion to attack is made. she merely waits, fists clenching on her sides.

“ … you have got to be kidding me.” finally she speaks, exhaling as something that could be considered anger; she’s confused. more than that, she’s surprised. angered. scared. “after all this time, this is what you went to do? this is utterly… ridiculous.”

“kin...” it had always been a nickname she had affectionately used for Lina. despite them not being of the same blood, they had always been something akin to family, regardless of blood. time and time again, she had held the other up fondly and admired the bond they shared. at the time, she believe nothing could change their relationship. family, after all, was family.

“do i frighten you? does the path i’ve chosen to walk surprise you any? please be honest.” not that it’d sway her any. the darkness that which she bathed herself in provided the oddest of comforts. not even hydaelyn had ever been so kind.

she knows this, she’s aware but she’s been faltering for the past month or so. the bruises she had before had healed and now it’s just remaining constant. if she doesn’t get better then...well, she’d rather not get too drawn into the idea of failure. rose, brema, they’re both trying to help her and it would be in poor taste to repay them by giving up. “i guess so. i just...don’t want--” i don’t want to be too late.

elysia had a daily struggle with her confidence, with her own self, with pretty much everything. after what happened with jac, she couldn’t face that part of herself. taking a moment for herself (selfish, she thinks), she nods. “yeah, i think...i think a couple more bouts should be good. then maybe...if you want, we can do something else...”

she’s still no good with just saying what she feels. she wishes to spend more time with the other but is afraid she’ll be refuted.
