from 2007 until 2010, over 17,000 people died in police custody in the united states. you can restock a store. you can buy another cop car. you can rebuild a city. you cannot bring back the life of george floyd. you cannot bring back the 1,099 people killed by police in the us in 2019. black men are killed by police at the rate of 1 for every 1000- 2.5x higher than for white men. this is only barely scratching the surface of why these riots are important- and way more important than a physical building or material goods. keep this type of commentary off this post.

Florence’s music has quite literally saved me. I was in a psychiatric hospital and her music got me through it. The lyrics give me hope and the composition of every song always manages to calm me down. I was told that for my 18th birthday I would be seeing fatm and it got me through the admission, I stayed strong so I could see my inspiration for recovery. I just need everyone to know how important this band is to me.
