Has This Been Done?
I think it's a missed opportunity that no other characters - especially the other healers, especially especially after the plague is done - ever respond to Dankovsky with Latin.
Like, he's discussing plans for taking care of the people left impaired after recovering from Sand Pest, and Burakh says "Nihil Obstat, then." And after seeing Dankovsky struck speechless he adds something like "You took the time to learn pieces of my arcane and ancient language, right?"
Or he's lecturing Clara, and medicum morbo adhibere-s her, and she responds quidquid latine dictum sit altum videtur, and he's reduced to stuttering about her terrible pronunciation.
I dunno! I just think it could be fun.
If I was in charge of making Deltarune I'd make it so you get the best outcome by doing Snowgrave and then aborting it in chapter 4 & spending the rest of the story helping Berdly get better.
Like, some arbitrary confluence of circumstances end up causing tragedy *unless* Berdly just *happens* to be present at the hospital *and* functional enough to fix it. And the SOUL gets super smug about this to Kris, like "what, did you think I hospitalized him for reasons other than using my ooc knowledge to make sure he'd be in the right place to save [whoever] from [whatever]??".
(this is one of many reasons I am not and should not be in charge of making Deltarune)
As of Chapter 5 I think this might be what will actually happen. Like, pretty sure Chapter 6's Dark World will be made by Noelle, in the hospital, so she can heal her dad. Whether Berdly is around would have a pretty major impact on how that plays out!
You ever think about how Alta is an arena fighter? How she's NOT a soldier or mercenary; how her livelihood only exists because people buy tickets? How she never acknowledges this, never thinks about the audience, focuses entirely on herself and her opponent and her blade? (How that's probably one of the things her fans love most about her? How she'll probably never know that?) How all her talk about hard work and brutal necessity never touches on the actual value she actually provides, or on the reasons she's economically viable?
. . . I'm not going anywhere with this. I just think it's neat.

So there's this witch in the alps
and she's lost her cat, and she's summoned you to help. You're an invisible servant, a ghostly, vapourous creature with a limited ability to affect the world, but you can travel fast and you see everything from above (just like any traditional pixel RPG).
You get tutorial messages from the witch at first, like "you can lift things with the space bar!" and "Oops! The basement is off limits!" and "You can't see into the well. It's too dark!" and so on. Your job is to look for her lost cat. There's also a murder mystery component- the baker's daughter is missing!
It is possible to find her cat and tell her where it is, and that ends the game. She dismisses you with her thanks, and that's the end of your life.
But. Time moves on. If you don't find the cat on the first day, the Witch goes to bed and tells you to stay in the circle overnight.
You don't have to. You can investigate. The basement has half a dismembered body in it. There is a witch hunter two houses over breaking windows and searching for clues. There's a deep voice from the dark well. Take too long and the witch will kill again.
You can go a couple of ways. You can save the witch from the hunter, you can lead the hunter to the witch, you can free yourself on your own recognizance, you can possess the cat and scream forbidden verses in the town square. Keep an eye on the suspicion meters, keep the cat away from the witch, survive another day.
Okay I wrote it down, I'm not going to fucking make it now PLEASE let me work on my actual writing
If I was in Revolutionary Girl Utena I'd want to revolutionize the world but just by deregulating housing markets and increasing foreign aid and banning frontier AI development, and the Student Council would be like "ok it's technically still hetslop so we're fine with it", and Utena would be like "ok someone who'll ignore Anthy instead of actively harming her AND will make the Student Council chill tf out, I'll take it", and she'd try to lose a duel to me but I'd fuck up so badly that she wins by accident and I'd get sent to the hospital and that would be the end of the episode.
(I haven't actually watched the show, all I know is the lady who turns into a cow tries to hide bugs in someone's pencil case but there are already bugs there)
In a few months, it'll be the one-decade anniversary of when Trump was first elected.

bad Movie; good Episode; excellent Conclusion

I wanted someone to play it as soon as I saw it and they delivered
@19questionmarks
I love when blatant foreshadowing doesn't pay off. When Chekhov's firing squad fails; when implied promises of wonder and/or horror just quietly fail to be kept.
Oh goddamn it
It's a pun. Sunny Blaise -> Sunny Blaze.
I can't tell if I realized that earlier & forgot it or if I *actually* took until page 155 to first notice.
Fuck!
