In honor of National Voter Registration Day, I’ll say two things. One, apparently were aren’t worse about voting than the Boomers were at our age. And two, we need to be much, much better.

In 2008, the voter turnout among people aged 44-62 was 69%. Among people aged 18-28, it was only 51%. And that was the peak year for our generation. In 2010 and 2014 (midterm elections that young voters are notorious for ignoring), that percentage dropped to less than 25%. It is not a coincidence that Republicans took back the Senate and increased their hold on the House in 2014. 

If we don’t vote, we have no one to blame but ourselves for what happens next. So take a minute today to make sure you’re registered to vote. Ask your friends if they’re registered. If they aren’t, show them how easy it is.

We are the largest generation, and we have the power to dictate where our country goes from here. It’s just a question of whether or not we use it.

How CNN Completely Made up a "Hillary Bounce" and Got Away with it

CNN reported on Hillary Clinton's lead allegedly growing over Bernie Sanders. The only problem is that it isn't even close to true.

Good read, with the nitty gritty on the stats. Bottom line: ’…we spent an entire news cycle reading about how well Hillary is doing among voters over 50 masquerading as the entire Democratic electorate. Reporting which lacks credibility does not do any favors to a cable news industry that is already dying because of its failure to get traction with younger viewers. Be very careful what you read, (that goes for this piece too) and always check what’s behind the headline. Last but definitely not least, if you are a Bernie supporter, work to increase turnout of millenial age voters and Bernie will win the nomination, and subsequently the election.

The workers are striking to encourage Congress and President Barack Obama to adopt a $15 minimum wage.

That the federal estate tax doesn’t even apply to about 99.86% of all estates or inheritances, and Its only propose is to prevent outrageous sums of money from being passed down generation to generation, creating a permanent landed gentry. So chances are your children can keep all your coppies of adam smith’s the wealth of nations after you die :)
