PALM READER skinathon wip

week two

so im behind a week on the skinathon thanks to some health problems, but back in action with my fourm rows, i plan to eventually get black and white photos in there and actually fill everything out. current images are just place holders i fiddled with for too long and gave up on. this is my first experience with side by side forums, editing them each based on id, and using a full background image so just going to have to see where it takes me. im going to eventually try and fill out each category accordingly when i get around to using this skin but this would be all the welcome info stuff, member area and registration. currently don’t have an area for sub-forums but i might add that in.

aaannd got the stats done tonight, might fiddle with the two side boxes some more or change things around a bit not 100% happy with it right now but its 3am and i need sleep. the online numbers toggle if you click the online now. basically only happy with that rn.

decided to try out a toggle info bar, because honestly who needs to see 24/7. im enjoying playing with toggles so far, seams to be a lot of what im focusing on rn because hiding stuff is fun. dont quite know what to put in the links since the sidebar has 90% of them but maybe cbox or otms maybe.

first preview of the start of my skin for the skinathon 2020, the header might possibly change since im sorta on the fence with it but im v attached to the sidebar which will probs inspire the rest of the skin. already super attached to this but i’m going to post everything anyway and try and get better about posting and not hoarding away from eyes.

Name/Alias: flower/kel Timezone: est Descriptors: hufflepuff + leo How long you’ve been coding: erm about 14 years? it all started with neopets and myspace back in the day. Coding style: light skins with pastel/muted colors, big images/avs, heavy padding, maybe a little boxy/blocky. still experimenting with my style tho  Favourite design elements: honeybee icon font, toggles, gradients, black and white images, profile apps, accordion/collapsible templates, anything sticky, box shadow, outlined text, rgba with different opacities. What you’re aiming to get out of the Skinathon: actually finishing a whole skin, maybe get outside my comfort zone and try something new, new friendships/be more active in the community. Trying anything new for the Skinathon? im planning on fiddling around with the different category/forum structure to see what i can do with that. maybe try to go a little more simplistic with everything. just learned how to do variables so i’m going to incorporate that into everything. Shout out a code/skin/design/coder you love: luna, dove, alice and monty are four that come to mind off the top of my head i love seeing their work and it always just blows me away at how pretty everything is.  A gif/meme to top it off:

just a little something I did for a coding challenge. really pleased with how it turned out, so I'm posting it. if you can't tell I’m really into gradients right now. but this gave me a little inspo to do a dark skin, which is something I've never done...so well see if that happens.
