— He watched as Yingxue walked around him, keeping his gaze on them. Even though they weren't a threat to him, he was still keeping his guard up high.

"I forced my kingdom through years of torment and tyranny... I deserve some sort of punishment for all of those years. Of all the ones I've wronged in the past..."

— Yet where he came from, he was forgiven. He just could never accept that sort of kindness, his guilt for what he had done being too large.

"... I've done so much wrong to the ones I should have protected. And now I will reap the consequences long awaited for me..."

[Yingxue’s gaze darkens. They swing their arm through the misty frost, their claws becoming tipped with it. One must simply cloak the dull maroon beneath.]

Is that so. A ruler amidst the innocent and corrupt? It seems survivors here continue to be plagued with this idea… It cannot continue like this.

[They shake their head as they walk past him, their tail being the last thing to draw near him. The opportunity to free a soul stood right near. The chance to save another was clearer than the ice they summoned.]

— He watched as their claws became tipped with the frost, and his grasp on his scepter became tighter. At least he had kept his guard up.

"I never wished to put my kingdom through any of that that... If I could have stopped myself before all those years, I would have."

— The former king kept his gaze on them, watching their movement carefully like an animal of prey. With how paranoid he now constantly was, it'd make sense if he was seen as one.

"But I couldn't. So now I'll face whatever punishments this place puts me through."

[They stop in their tracks, their tail swishing idly. They let the cold rest onto their nose, taking deep breaths as they think back to the strong resistance that continuously met them here. Their breathing, akin to those poor souls that froze alone in the midst of winter. Remember those souls, Boreas?]

This.. place… is ridden with suffering. I seldom sought harm or pain, no. I yearned for peace, as I do now. And I believe it is yet possible for a better world to exist… Don’t you?

❆ A long, long time ago, in an era where demons and humans didn’t get along, Yingxue truly lived. From small spats and comments on the streets to outright slaughter and war. They still sought peace among the chaos, despite the fact that the deity they worshipped was no longer with them. They were a peacemaker, they barely used their magic, and they did what they could to help their town. They even met an exorcist to keep their spirits up during their efforts. Until, of course, they were summoned to a meeting about their peace.

❆ Feeling the sting of the betrayal of man, Yingxue had suffered in that moment. They drank from a poisoned cup, and was sent into an era of rampage. It was only quelled by the same exorcist they trusted, and they were imprisoned in the same temple they once worshipped. They’re no longer able to reach their past, and see nothing but frost in the future.

❆ Yingxue seeks to restore the world’s peace by remaking it, forcing its rebirth. They see now that it is too cruel, too heartless, and that there is nothing worth keeping. They’ll see to it that it will be frozen over, put to a long rest like them, and it will rise anew. Under the name of the deity that died in the same war that took its followers, and under the title of the harbinger.

[A rather saddened man in blue clown attire and half a mask stands. He frowns almost consistently, his stance is unbalanced, and his eyes were still adjusting to being opened.]

“What is this place… where is He? Am I..”

Folly watches the new figure from afar. She squints at them, studying them. How did they get here...?

She took a step closer to the clown. In all honesty, she thought they might have a connection to Pilby. She quickly shook away that thought, not wanting to get caught up in the elevator drama. She couldn't care less about it.

".. Now, what are you doing here...? Hmmhaha..."

She said after suddenly appearing behind them.

[They barely flinched. They simply shifted their eyes to look up at the new figure that cared little for the fatigue in their face, well adjusted to the feeling. It wouldn’t be the last time that their misery would have a comedic effect, no matter how troubling the thought.]

“Oh… Hello. I hope I’m in the right place… assuming the Ringmaster has dropped me here.”

[They knelt to rest their legs, weak and unused to the lack of strings that supported them. How odd, they thought, they barely felt his presence here.. perhaps it was just her own that overwhelmed it.]
