Legend has it that wtfock was required to air a season (which became Kato's season) bc they had legally binding contracts which had to be fulfilled. Why did they make Kato a lead? Bc they thought her story would be more compelling to their majority white audience. They are correct. Cis-gendered conventionally beautiful white people are the most pop actors. Where they actually dropped the ball was the bad writing and poor casting of an main actress with very limited acting abilities.

Ahh the contract thing makes sense I guess. Literally they really thought they were doing something 💀 she’s the most un relatable character. Like the whole point of Skam is ppl can relate to the characters and stories and find comfort in it. If the storyline was actually decent I probs would’ve watched and yeah the acting was not gr8. It really sucks that they to just made that season and add a random character, it really just messes up the dynamic. I hope she doesn’t appear too much in this season but I feel like she will be used as a main plot point or something :/ I could rant about Kato forever lmao.
