By tune up ride on Honey do you just mean her first ride in a long time? Some people use tune up to mean the horse was misbehaving and they beat the horse. I hope you are not like that.

Tuneup is in she has not been ridden since November (and even then she was very green, she was only just started last summer), so this first ride was very slow and light. I wasn’t sure how she was going to behave, and she is definitely out of shape, so I basically started off easy as though it was her first ride all over again!

Why is everyone so quick to cry abuse? Tune-up (especially one ponies) has always meant “get on and make sure the horse is responsive to aids/understands what’s being asked and is ‘safe’ for a kid to hop on even if the horse isn’t going to be ‘perfect’” in the circles I swim in. Tune-up is “hey can you w/t/c when asked? oh you can? super.”

Lol yeah I was a bit surprised by the question, especially since I posted a video of said ride 🙄

Honey is getting ready for potential leasers/riders to look at her, so after a long winter break (this flooding rain needs to stooooooop) I wanted to make sure she hadn’t devolved into an untrained murder machine. Turns out she was an angel, and just as good as before her break!
