Current weather situation: riding arena has been frozen for over a week

Horse turnout is also frozen with the fun addition of ice

We are not prepared for actual winter in this country lol

So this bad boy decided to spend his December at the vet clinic with colic, again.

Recovered soon, but since he was there anyway I got his neck xrayed and of course my suspicion was correct: He has spondyloarthrosis at C6/C7, slight ECVM and some of his neurological symptoms are most likely from nerve compression/damage.

Combined with his Shivering, PSSM2 (MIM), joint and tendon issues and general state of un-health, I've decided to stomp all my ambitions into the dust and only do some light dressage for fun and hacking with him from now on.

Dressage beastie going xc for the second time ever

We had some stops today but my jumping seat is non-existent and I just didn't give him the correct instruction, so 100% rider mistake.

Considering we never show jump anything and have zero routine he's doing super well with the solid jumps

I'm just trying to not fall off and vaguely steer in the correct direction
