sometimes we don’t get what we pray for because…

وَعَسٰٓى اَنْ تُحِبُّوْا شَيْـًٔا وَّهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ وَاَنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ.

“but perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. and Allāh knows, while you know not.”

Dear myself,

when things turn the way you didn’t wish for yourself, then make sure that this wasn’t intended to be. That He has a greater plan. Allow yourself to put your trust in Him, to be patient and talk to Him. You unfortunately forget to easily how much He loves you. How he tries to protect you, protect you against evil. And how He tests you. When things don’t go the way you wanted them to, are you still going to love Him? Are you still going to be faithful to Him? Are you going to turn away? Will you stop worshiping Him? He’ll keep testing you till you return to Him. Love Him, turn to Him, talk to Him, worship Him, be faithful to Him, live for Him, even when your world is a pure chaos, even when you think the sun will never rise again. He’s with you. He’s with you. But this life wasn’t meant to be easy. It wasn’t.

Dear myself,

don’t worry too much about the decisions you make in life. Every decision may not lead to a point you wished for yourself, but every move has its meaning. And you know that you will grow on those you may regret. So start seeing them as an asset and appreciate them.

You are zoning out. Again. It’s that short time of your life where you can’t believe you exist. That YOU really exist. Right now, right here. For you a mystical element isn’t how life is, it is that it is and that we are in the same moment. And that amazes you. You are looking at the simultaneously and regularly moving waves. You can’t stop looking at them. It is like they hypnotise you. And while focusing on the flow you perceive your surrounding. The people walking by. You notice the noises. The traffic. The laughter. The sound of the waves. And you just sit there. Making no noise. Making no move.

Be thankful for what you have and for what you have been able to achieve so far. Always remember when you find yourself complaining that there is someone out there that wishes to have exactly what you have and what you take for granted. A family, a home, a safe place.

We seem to be somone we sometimes really aren’t. We smile and love while we actually are full with sadness, emptiness and/or unhappiness. While our heart is broken. While we grieve. While we don’t feel the way we show to the outside. How good we can be at covering our real feelings..
