“But Sonic! Zhongli said there was an Archon on Inazuma! What if they have the emerald?” She uses Tails’ head as a way to boost herself up so she can look up at the hedgehog, hands between Tails’ ears as the plane starts gliding over the ocean. It swooshes past the Crux, the roar of it’s engine alerting Beidou and Kazhua, who marvel at the flying machine that is as Alien to this world as the Travelers aboard it.
In response to Paimon’s query, Sonic rubs his nose with his finger and sighs. “Then it’ll be a party for sure!” He looks down at Tails, squatting on the wing and resting the base of his wrists on his knee. “I think I gotta give you the rundown, buddy, cause we’re sure as heck not in Mobius anymore, dude!” He sighs and shakes his head.
Annoyance paints his features. Tails Might’ve only been without Sonic for a few weeks, but time dilation means Sonic’s been here for months. So he’s learned a great chunk about this world, more then he’s cared for. “This world’s called Teyvat. There ain’t no machines. It’s a world ruled over by seven gods, called Archons. Each Archon controls a specific element. Wind, Earth, Fire, yadayada.” He continues, waving his hand. “Some people got magic powers from these archons, and those are called visions.” He blows a puff of wind at how many times people have asked him if he has an ‘Anemo Vision’
“Strange thing is, nobody knows what the Archons look like, I think. I mean, they got statues, but people think they’re up in the heavens or somethin’.. but most of ‘em are wandering the world with Human names or somethin’, ya know?” He shakes his head.
“So some folks wanna take them down, the gods, up in the heavens. They need power to do that… or somethin’… There’s this one club called the Fatui, and they got Eleven leaders, or somethin’… they were fine mindin’ their own buisness kickin’ heads in… but as soon as they saw what the emeralds could do… they started jumpin’ me everywhere I went.” He explains, withholding the time he showed Super Sonic off in a battle at the Golden House, which left Teyvat’s Mora in a pretty shaky state when it’s minting facility collapsed.
“Now they got the three I had, and they’re high tailing it to Inazuma.” He winks and gives Tails a fist bump. “Now that I got my buddy here though, this is gonna be as easy as a piece of cake!”
The sudden pressure to his head has him forcing his head down in a duck, the plane swerving just slightly until he got it back in control. A grumble escapes his throat as he gives a questioning glance to Sonic, hoping that he would explain the new travel buddy that had decided that they were comfortable enough with him to use him as a ladder.
Using one of his tails, he grabs the little creature, moving it off his head and back toward the back seat without taking his eyes away from the sky. A huff, as he glances toward the ship, grinning at the look of awe and saluting them as they went.
“ Oh, I can definitely tell that. Mobius is definitely ... different. “ he finally decided on, unsure of how to further describe the strange world that he had found himself in.
Tails is quiet when he takes the information. Not from being overwhelmed, no. Tails can’t remember the last time information overwhelemed him. It was always something that he was grateful to absorb, but sometimes it needed to be detangled.
“ People want to take down this world’s gods for nefarious reasons using the chaos emeralds. Not the strangest thing someone’s tried to do with them. “ A huff, nose crinkling with annoyance at the situation. Of course, it wasn’t like this could be easy. It never was. Still, there’s a part of him that settles with excitement at the adventure in front of them, though he tries to curb it at least a bit.
Accepting the fist bump, he gives a quiet snort, “ Well, it’s not the first nor last time you’re going to pull me into messes. “ Obviously teasing, he frowns as he glances at the distance,
“ ... Looks like a storms coming up, you may wanna ... get settled. “
