Here it is!!! 50 days of keto and working my butt off at the gym and this is my progress.
The first photo is where I started, and the second was right before I started my 50 day challenge and the third is now! The photo from the side is MIND BLOWING. Like holy shit look at that progress!
This is about 8-10lbs difference between the middle photo and the one on the right
I am SO FUCKING PROUD of myself.
Now to celebrate with 4 diet free days of fun in the sun 😁
With a 33 pound loss tucked under my belt I thought it was time to visually see how far I’ve come.
The initial 15 pounds came off within the first four months through lazy keto. I stayed around 245 all the way from October 2017 through April 2018. Even though I was “doing keto” I wasn’t counting calories or macros. There were also many many times where I fell off the wagon throughout that time period.
The subsequent 15 pounds came off between April - May 2018 through CICO, increasing my walking, tracking everything I ate and staying within my macros.
Sure wish I had done strict keto since July but that wasn’t the path for me, apparently. Had to exhaust all the “easy” options first to find out they’re not effective for me.
I still have a long way to go but I’m proud of my efforts thus far and am enjoying the ride. I’ve already been able to start wearing clothes I haven’t been able to fit into in over a year and it feels so validating to be able to increase my wardrobe options again. While I still have a closet of dresses waiting for me to get under 180 they’ll be there cheering me on until I can fit into them again.
Now, more than ever my goal of weighing 165 again feels achievable. Not within grasp yet, but achievable through continued effort.
Guys, this is the best keto Mac and cheese I have ever made. It makes jumping on the wagon so much easier.
Recipe: 16 oz Bag of frozen cauliflower florets 1 cup of heavy cream 2 oz of cream cheese 1 tbsp mustard 2 cups cheddar cheese (I did one cup sharp and one Colby jack) Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
Steam cauliflower florets until tender In a pan, simmer heavy cream Melt in cream cheese and mustard Stir until creamy. Add 1 ½ cup cheese, stir until melted Mix cheese sauce and cauliflower together. I chopped them into smaller pieces. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and broil until cheese is golden brown and melty.
Enjoy!
Nyawr!
I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said “let me call my husband real quick” and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `”You know that was probably a scam, right?” and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If you’re “scamming” me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money.
“A scam” people are fucking wild.
This happened to me, too. A woman had used WIC for the majority of her stuff (which I say from personal experience is such a long and embarrassing process) and to buy the remainder of her groceries, which included diapers and wipes, she used a card, and it got declined. I bought the other $30 of her groceries because hey, I’ve been there, and now I’m not. She was extremely emotional and began to cry and even hugged me. My mom called me on the drive home and could tell I had been crying myself, asked what was wrong, and when I told her what happened, she berated me for being “duped.” I couldn’t believe she could be so disappointed in one of her children for doing something- nice? Is that the hill you want to die on? Getting mad about people needing groceries?
I once paid for a woman’s bill at the vet…it wasn’t a big one, but she was trying to pay for some medication for her dog, and her card was declined. And her lip started trembling, and she says “I don’t get paid until Tuesday, would he be ok until then?”
So I just told them to add the $20 something onto my bill, and I thought she was going to break down crying right there.
And I don’t care if it was a scam or not. Just do nice things for people sometimes.
Do good recklessly.
I think “Do good recklessly” would be fantastic word art to hang on one’s wall. Artistic people, go!
So this has happened to me but from the other side. Several years ago when my oldest was around three or so, I had my debit card decline at Walmart. It wasn’t a scam or a mistake, I was genuinely broke. Out of money. I checked my bank and discovered I had something like 7 dollars left to my name and a hungry kid and nothing to eat at home. So I sat there trying to come up with the best way to stretch that tiny amount of money to feed my kid. Not even to feed me. I can live on popcorn or something if I have to but my kid was three and he had to eat. So there I am trying really hard not to cry while I slowly take things out of my basket to get it down to under 7 bucks, when a lady tapped me on the shoulder. I looked up and she smiled at me and started putting the things back in my cart. I opened my mouth to tell her that I didn’t have the money for them but she stopped me right away and said “Don’t worry about it. It’s gonna be fine.” Then she handed the cashier her credit card and said “Ring up all of it.” My kid got to eat because of her. I got to eat because of her. I had laundry soap and deodorant because of her. She could’ve just ignored me silently struggling in that line. She could’ve decided I was a scam and gone home feeling good about avoiding being duped. But instead she chose to help me and she saved us. So maybe the person struggling in front of you is trying to put one over on you or maybe they are just sad and broke and trying to figure out what to do. You get to decide which you want to believe and what you want to do. But I’ll tell y’all, no one has ever been more beautiful to me than that lady in that line who saved me and my baby. Be like her. Be beautiful.
Do good recklessly
DO BETTER. BE BETTER. STRIVE TO BE BETTER.
DO GOOD RECKLESSLY
One time, my dad and I were living the grocery store and there was a guy outside asking for money to buy some stuff to take home for his kids. It was around Christmas time. My dad asked him if he could give him groceries instead of money, and the guy immediately said yes, so my dad gave him one of everything we bought (meat, rice, some chocolates, milk, oil). At that time, my dad hadn’t gotten his paycheck because the company he worked for was going through a tough time, but he didn’t care, he saw an opportunity to help someone and he did.
Another time, my dad gave 50 bucks to a guy who said he needed to buy medicine for his kids. I told my dad he was probably going to spend the money on alcohol or something, but my dad said that “whether he was lying or not says something about HIS character, but hearing someone in need and choosing not to help when I have the means to says something about mine”.
I never forget that.
“whether he was lying or not says something about HIS character, but hearing someone in need and choosing not to help when I have the means to says something about mine”

My greatest accomplishment: 3 Months Progress
I cannot believe this is the same person. Weight loss always shows in your face the most. If you are struggling to lose weight, believe me, I have been there. But, as cheesy as it sounds, if I can do it, I promise you, you can do it. You CAN DO it. You can do the thing. I believe in you. If you start today 6 months from now you will be a success story. You will be happy that you started today. Don’t wait. Start now. Peace and Love -Brooke
woman loses 150 lbs, poses with her heavier self in before and after pictures this is so cool
Never stop fighting for yourself 💪🏻 It doesn’t matter how long it takes you, as long as you keep going. There are going to be setbacks, challenges, and hardships - that’s life. Just never give up. You’ll thank yourself in the end.
Transformation Tuesday
Taking a moment to appreciate my journey. I was already 35lbs down from my highest weight in the first picture. I remember I felt good about myself, I was so proud. Now, 100lbs lighter than the first picture, I’m off that rapid weight loss high. I struggle with self image and confidence as much as I did when I was heavy. Still trying to find myself, still trying to see my worth.
Things are going suspiciously well for me right now. Hope you are all happy healthy and well. I am at once shocked and proud of my progress. Peace and Love -Brooke
this is THE scariest thing ive ever posted but im so proud of myself after years of hard work!!
i’ve finally dropped the last chunk of weight that I just couldn’t seem to shift and I could not be happier to say goodbye to 112lbs I’ll never let myself see again 👋🏻
250lbs to 138lbs 💫

“If autism isn’t caused by environmental factors and is natural why didn’t we ever see it in the past?”
We did, except it wasn’t called autism it was called “Little Jonathan is a r*tarded halfwit who bangs his head on things and can’t speak so we’re taking him into the middle of the cold dark forest and leaving him there to die.”
Or “little Jonathan doesn’t talk but does a good job herding the sheep, contributes to the community in his own way, and is, all around, a decent guy.” That happened a lot, too, especially before the 19th century.
Or, backing up FURTHER
and lots of people think this very likely,
“Oh little Sionnat has obviously been taken by the fairies and they’ve left us a Changeling Child who knows too much, and asks strange questions, and uses words she shouldn’t know, and watches everything with her big dark eyes, clearly a Fairy Child and not a Human Like Us.”
The Myth of the Changeling child, a human baby apparently replaced at a young age by a toddler who “suddenly” acts “strange and fey” is an almost textbook depiction of autistic children.
To this day, “autism warrior mommies” talk about autism “stealing” their “sweet normal child” and have this idea of “getting their real baby back” which (in the face of modern science) indicates how the human psyche actually does deal with finding out their kid acts unlike what they expected.
Given this evidence, and how common we now know autism actually is, the Changeling myth is almost definitely the result of people’s confusion at the development of autistic children.
Weirdly enough, that legend is now comforting to me.
I think it’s worth noting that many like me, who are diagnosed with ASD now, would probably have been seen as just a bit odd in centuries past. I’m only a little bit autistic; I can pass for neurotypical for short periods if I work really hard at it. I have a lack of talent in social situations, and I’m prone to sensory overload or you might notice me stimming.
But here’s the thing: life is louder, brighter and more intense and confusing than it has ever been. I live on the edge of London and I rarely go into the centre of town because it’s too overwhelming. If I went back in time and lived on a farm somewhere, would anyone even notice there was anything odd about me? No police sirens, no crowded streets that go on for miles and miles, no flickery electric lights. Working on a farm has a clear routine. I’d be a badass at spinning cloth or churning butter because I find endless repetition soothing rather than boring.
I’m not trying to romanticise the past because I know it was hard, dirty work with a constant risk of premature death. I don’t actually want to be a 16th century farmer! What I’m saying is that disability exists in the context of the environment. Our environment isn’t making people autistic in the sense of some chemical causing brain damage. But we have created a modern environment which is hostile to autistic people in many ways, which effectively makes us more disabled. When you make people more disabled, you start to see more people struggling, failing at school because they’re overwhelmed, freaking out at the sound of electric hand dryers and so on. And suddenly it looks like there’s millions more autistic people than existed before.
“…disability exists in the context of the environment.”
Reblog for disability commentary.
That last paragraph is absolutely important.
Let’s not forget that autism only became an official diagnosis in the 1950s, so it’s quite a recent thing. Even now, with millions of people being diagnosed or undiagnosed, there are some who don’t know how to approach someone with autism. They just seem them as different or feel intellectually superior or whatever and exclude that person, which in turn makes that person exclude themselves from some who could potentially understand and accept them. Kind of a vicious circle really.
