There was a reason Moonjinavoided the Dimensions Entertainment company building like death waswaiting at its doorstep, like he had only just managedto escape its grasp back then and it was anticipating the day of hisreturn to get its revenge – but of course it was nothing quite asdramatic as that. There were simply people he knew had remained therethat he didn’t wish to ever have to face again, but he had recentlycome to the conclusion that it was about time he got over things andleft them behind. As such, he had sought out a few former connectionsagain to talk things over, so that both parties could let them go.That, and his reason to want to go there was more compelling thanwhatever doubts told him not to – Hunter had always been a goodfriend to him, even when he hadn’t let him;the least he could do was repay some of that kindness little bylittle, and if it involved doing something he wasn’t keen on, then hewould simply have to get over himself.
Hisplan was simple: go in (the staff knew who he was, he doubted therewould be any problem there), find Hunter (who was at the company,he’d made sure of that), then provide him with a whole lot of healthyfood for another no doubt busy day – did Alien ever rest? (A funnyquestion for him to ask, if he thought about it.) Of course theactual execution wasn’t. Of course; things were, after all, alwayseasier said than done.
Itwas pure coincidence, bad luck on his part, that he happened acrossthe very people he had been hoping to avoid, right past the lobby. (In other words, he hadn’t gotten very far.) People fromthe past, the two he had called his best friends once upon a time, before things happened and changed his world – or at least his viewof it. “So you haven’t learned a thing, Ahn Moonjin,” one of themscoffed right off the bat, the moment they laid eyes on him and thebags he carried, like death really hadawaited his return, “Still putting other people first? Wantkindness to be your downfall again?”Anger bubbled up within Moonjin at an alarming pace, but he hadmastered the art of swallowing his feelings, of rationalizing, andtruly, wasn’t it more saddening that they hadn’t gotten anywhereafter all these years? It would be no use arguing with them, though,he knew full well – after all, he used to know them well–, so he simply shook his head and sidestepped to make his wayaround them. He didn’t have time for this. Before he could pass them, however, he felt a hand wrap around his arm and yank him back towardsthem. “Not so fast.” Oh, glorious day.
If Hunter was one thing, it was a good and loyal friend. People might not like his personality, the might find him crude or unbearable or too playful, but one thing he took very seriously was his friendships. He cherished each and every one of the friendships he had, and he treated all of his friends well. He didn’t want to risk losing any of them. Hunter had to deal with that too much in the past at a young age. He knew what it was like all too well to have friends turn their backs on you just for being who you were, and he didn’t want to experience that again. You could say that those experiences had somewhat given him some form of separation anxiety, or maybe even abandonment issues. He knew that he had issues with people leaving him, but he would never admit that out loud. He would rather just silently cling to them, and hope that him overcompensating in the friendship department would be enough to make them stay.
That was why he hadn’t allowed Moonjin to end their friendship without a fight, especially when he hadn’t done anything wrong. If he had known what was going to go down that day, he would have put a stop to it, or he would have at least warned Moonjin about it. What hurt the most about it all though was that Moonjin actually thought that he was in on it, that he would actually do something that low.
Fortunately they had hashed everything out and they were friends again, their bond stronger than ever. He oftentimes found himself going over to Moonjin’s dorm that he shared with the rest of his group members, or inviting the other male over to his apartment. Bax, his puppy bulldog, had taken a strong liking to the group leader, something that Hunter found adorable, especially when he followed him around the apartment and sat by his feet wherever he went. A lot of the time though, they would meet at Dimensions headquarters. Which was exactly where Hunter was waiting for Moonjin to arrive. He glanced at his watch - he was running a little late, which wasn’t like him at all. He frowned and made his way up to the lobby, his eyes scanning the area. It didn’t take him long to spot his friend being held up by two familiar faces. His eyes narrowed and he began walking in their direction, his fists clenched at his sides. “Hey!” He called out, grabbing their attention. “What’s going on here? Are these two bothering you, Moonjin?” He reached out and smacked the hand away that was gripping his friend’s wrist.
