durifmd·:
to be frank, he wasn’t entirely sure what he was getting himself into when it came to bc entertainment. he didn’t really know much about the company, besides for the fact that they create a lot of really good groups. he’s a fan of decipher and bee, which would explain why he sang an acoustic version of replay at his audition and busted out the moves to bee’s tell me after forgetting exactly what he was going to do. but, he did know what he was getting into when it came to being an idol; he knew it was going to be hard. but, it was all that he dreamed about since he was younger, since had started his vocal lessons and other music lessons. he had put if off for the longest time to make sure he was ready. now, he was more ready than ever. he was ready to take on the world, vocals first. truly, this was it.
he was in the line up for the next boy group under bc entertainment, he had already switched his contract after such a short amount of time, and he was preparing. in due time, he would officially be announced as a member of the group and even the thought of it had seemingly made his heart skip a beat. he was never sure if his dream would ever come true, but it was inching closer and closer now. he was finally going to sing for people, something that he always wanted to do. he’s one of the lucky ones who actually got to chase after such a thing and for that, he was incredibly grateful. he giggles, shaking his head, “i’m not going to forget, i promise! i don’t easily forget people, jihyun-ah!” a giggle leaves pass his lips. “okay!” he says, before getting up. he’d make his way up to the counter to order the cheesecake and black tea. “auntie! can i get a cheesecake and black tea, please?” he questions, before she’s off to fetch it. (and ultimately before she’s refusing to let duri pay for it.)
Maybe it’s jealousy, maybe it’s worry.
Regardless of what her feelings may be to this development of her cousin’s career path, she is ultimately happy for him and nothing could take that away from her. Not even her own uneasy feelings of him entering a lifetime of pressure and struggle – questioning things you never even thought of before, guessing and second-guessing your worth in the hands of people who didn’t know you but acted like they did. For now, she would brush away that anxious feeling (the boy had yet to even debut!) and join him in his bliss of finally taking a step in the right direction of realizing his dream of becoming a singer. Whatever happens later could be dealt with when that came up (and hopefully nothing troublesome and career damaging would happen to the boys but who knows? The industry, thepeople within and the consumers were as fickle as they come. One really could not tell until it was too late.)
“Alright, alright, I’ll take your words for it.” A soft giggle accompanies her words and she drops the subject. But that’s what everybody says, she wanted to tell him, until their schedules becomes too much, the attention too much, the constant demands from everyone too much and the only thing you want for a change is some peace and quiet and then you close yourself off from everyone who ever meant something to you because you don’t know what else to do. Her thoughts are running wildly again, she’s slipping again. Taking a deep breath, she keeps her smiling appearance up. No way would she ruin this perfectly joyful moment with her own unnecessary drama. Duri didn’t need for her to rain on his parade. Instead she shifts her focus on the treat she was about to have, making a mental note of reminding herself to pay a visit to her uncle and aunt more often. “You’re not gonna have anything?” she asks as he makes his way to the counter, not quite sure if he heard her or not.
