Notes

Hot take, I hate it when people get caught up in the semantics and small details of what happened. All anyone needs to know is:

1. Yes it happened, yes it was fucked up, and no matter what age she was when they met or what age she was when they started dating, there was an immediate unbalanced power dynamic between them that led to a lot of manipulation and abuse in the relationship. There's no excusing what Pete did, it should have never happened, but it did.

2. They've both moved on so why are we still arguing about it. She's even gone on record as saying that she wants nothing to do with him and that she wants people to stop associating her name with him. She's moved on, she's healed, she's married and running a successful business with her husband. Hate his actions all you want (rightfully so) but please have some respect for her wishes and at least stop using her name when talking about their past. (Not that anyone on this blog has done that, just for future reference to anyone reading this.)

3. THIS HAPPENED OVER TWENTY YEARS AGO, and it was not a pattern of behavior that continued for Pete. This is a rare case where the abuser actively decided to seek help and change, and hasn't abused anyone since then. Again, it doesn't excuse what he did. 

Personally, I do think that she should get some form of justice in that she was clearly his muse and his inspiration for so many songs, therefore she was a big reason for their success, but that's between them and honestly we'll never know what happens/happened behind the scenes between them over the years. I want to believe that Pete reached out and tried to make things right, to help her out in some way, but that's my personal bias and at the end of the day we'll never know. Anyways, they are both completely different people now who have both left this in the past and have moved on to better things.

Somebody @d my anon and i wanted to respond but without revealing their identity: there is no proof that they only started dating when she was 17, just because the pictures are from when she was 17 (supposedly) this doesn't eliminate the possibility that they were dating before that, it's not a proof. Also, "they were equals in the relationship because he was immature" it doesn't work like that plus he was rich and famous and she wasn't so equals i don't think so

I cant believe actual ADULTS think that the petes underage girlfriend allegations "debunking" is actually good and intelligent where did everyones critical thinking skills go??? "He didn't date her when she was 15 because he had another girlfriend at the time" seriously?? That's the most fucking naive argument ive ever seen, the roleplay thing was also bullshit, somebody made a Tumblr post stating it all came from a roleplay blog (and linked a blog who's owner very blatantly stated it was a roleplay) and people just ran with it. She has implied they started dating when she was 15 on that podcast. Im myself a fob fan and im not saying everyone should hate pete now just don't spread misinformation and treat it as an established fact thank you
