Mateus heard the door open but did not look up. He was busy after all. “I have a few more things to go over.”

He sighed a bit. “No, no. I can come to dinner.” It was good for him to take a break anyways. Mateus set the quill in his hand down so the ink wouldn’t drip onto his desk and stood up.

Spade was out on one of his self given scouting missions. Mostly he would watch the various Cosmos Warriors and what they were up to and return to his mother with information. Today he was watching Squall from a high point where he knew he wouldn’t be seen by the other.

Sephiroth smiled and came up behind the son of the time witch. He stayed silent watching him. He stood a few minutes before putting a gentle hand on Spades shoulder.

“Tell me something, Sephiroth. I have spent the days since you asked me planning everything for it.” His voice started out calm. “Do you know how much stress that alone puts on me? And I was already dealing with a war.” Now his voice was growing in volume. “Do you know how stressful it is balancing a war and a wedding?! There is no way I am going to throw away everything I have done just to do something simple!”

Sephiroth blinked a nodded. “Do we have a date yet then?”

“No.” He said flatly. “I am taking care of other details before setting the actual date. As I am the one with the busy schedule I need to plan around it.”

Sephiroth offered a strawberry to the demon with a grin.

The demon blinked a bit at the offered berry, not quite expecting in. But then smiled a bit and took a bite from the strawberry.

Sephiroth smiled and moved to wrap his arms around the demon. “I’m allowed to be.”

Mateus leaned into him a bit. “Well of course you are.”

The ex-general leaned his head on the shorter mans with a bit of a smile. “ How go the plans for war?”

The mermaid surfaced from under the water, not noticing him. Chris lifted herself onto a rock to sit and pushed her hair out of her face, humming slightly as she did so.

She laid her head against his shoulder. “You don’t know how much it means to hear zhat…” She mumbled when she found her voice again. Chris felt safe in his arms and that took so much for her.

He nodded and pressed and kiss to her head. He held her tightly, rubbing a gentle hand across her back. “I love you Chris.’ he spoke quietly, but, he knew she could hear him. It was the first time hes spoken the word out loud to her.
