          She didn’t understand it. How Drizella could look upon her and not see how… How strange she was, how lost she could be, how she was far less than what Drizella deserved —— Alice knew what she was, but maybe part of it was because she didn’t feel lost around the other woman. Maybe part of it was because Drizella didn’t treat her like some weirdo, and maybe Alice didn’t feel that way around her. But it still made no sense to her. 

          “ Look at you, and look at me. Are you really surprised that your mother would hate everything about this? I’m just a nobody. I’ve always been that. ”

DRIZELLA  SUCKS  IN  HER  BREATH,  she  really  didn’t  want  to  talk  about  this.  it  was  her  curse,  &  yet  at  this  stage  of  the  game  her  mother  still  had  power  over  her. there  was  a  lot  at  stake. her  mother  putting  a  stop  to  her  plans,  or  worse,  alice  waking  up  &  drizella  losing  her  all  over  again.  she  couldn’t  let  that  happen,  everyone  had   to  stay  asleep,  it  was  the  only  way  for  now.   ❛  she  bugged  me.  i  don’t  know  how  long  its  been  there.  i  got  rid  of  it,  but  i  think  we  need  to  play  it  safe  ❜

          It seemed to feel as though Ivy’s mother was always trying to control her. There were clear examples that she could remember, and then ones that felt... Out of reach, in a way. Like they were there but she couldn’t quite remember them. But now she was bugging her? That seemed like a gross invasion of privacy. Tilly went quiet for a moment, frown heavy on her brows. She hated this... She wished that they could just be together, not have to worry about consequences or have to sneak around.  “ So what does this mean? How do we play it more safe? ”

she is so beautiful and i have a dream where this is something i can say out loud, where she is something i can love out loud, where we are more than blacked out names on the family tree or cautionary tales. this time, we walk the streets in daylight. this time, the love is not a scarlet letter. this time, it is a flag we will never let fall. it is uncaged, unashamed, unrelenting. she is the farthest thing from a secret and i am the farthest thing from afraid. every kiss doesn’t taste like a bullet, my body isn’t full of exit wounds.

          God knows they had to keep this a secret, Ivy’s mom would probably have a heart attack if she knew that her daughter --- who she expected to be so perfect was seeing the likes of her. Tilly wasn’t exactly suitable --- not at all normal and probably considered a little rough around the edges. But one thing about her was that she thought Ivy was perfect enough already. When she’d heard her phone go, smile spread over her lips when she saw Ivy’s name on the flashing screen.  “ She’s on to us? How so? ”  The blonde questioned. She of course understood why they had to be secret, but there was part of her that worried that it would be this way forever --- she didn’t want that.
