syincloud : Awww, Ā it's such a waste to see you go. Ā I always love your fic and the dynamics between Eren and Levi. Take care and all the best!
Thanks for your well wishes and your kind words! And a big thank you for your reading my stuff all this time!
redbeanfilling : GOSH same re: how things turned out with AoT, but I have to say that the fandom was seriously formative and is a really cool example how fandoms are so transformative. Great to hear you're doing well!! <3
Seriously, itās super disappointing how the canon turned out. So much potential ruined. But yeah, the fandom has been a great experience for me and Iāve always loved to see different peopleās takes on the characters and the story. In all my years of fandom-ing, the AoT fandom is one of two that had a genuine impact on the overall shape of my life and I will always love it for that.
thesabotagedandovershadowed : awwww, this breaks my heart. you've always been one my favorite writers in snk, and your canonverse depictions of ereri were seriously the best. im still following snk, but my interest too has been fading out slowly. this feels almost like the final nail in the coffin for my obsession :( im really genuinely sorry to see you go, but im happy to follow your thoughts on banana fish (also a new obsession of mine lol). here's to new fandoms :')
Yeah, I totally get still following along, I donāt blame people at all who are still invested and are determined to see where the story ends. But for me, this is where I get off the train. Thanks for following my fics for all these years, I always loved seeing your comments!
Banana Fish is actually an old fandom for me! I got obsessed with the manga back in high school and have been trying (unsuccessfully) to get other people to read it ever since, hahaha. I am truly living now with all this Banana Fish buzz!!!!
celestial-lens : I would LOVE to read Giving Up the Ghost as an original work!!!!! That sounds awesome! Are you going to pursue having it published? Also, I def empathize with your issues with the fandom. I've struggled with my fond memories of the early days vs what the manga and fandom have become...
Getting it published is the goal! Itās been one of my most personal stories and even after finishing the fic version, it hasnāt left me alone. I really want to do my best on it (though the editing process is so slow... Iām dying.)
Itās tough to let go of a fandom youāve been super involved in, even when youāre are disappointed with the canon! I know some people can just carry on happily with their fandom-ing and ignore whatever nonsense is happening in the source material. I can do that with some things, but AoT has just disappointed me far too much.
mysecretfanmoments : Nice to get an update! I had no idea about a lot of the recent snk stuff. Yikes... I agree with you though. It's about the experience we had; we can't help that it turned into a dumpster fire. Followed your new blog and excited for your original exploits!
Yeah, itād been a while since I checked in on the manga, so I poked around to see what was up and... āyikesā sums it up. Iād already been getting uncomfortable with everything that occur post-basement, but damn, it really just kept getting worse!!!
My main blog actually precedes this one by about two or three years! I started it for a college class, but ever since that semester ended, itās just been a mix of whatever I felt like posting or reblogging, hahaha.
