this is genuinely what it feels like to realise you’re a lesbian.

everything makes sense. i knew i was a lesbian when i was a kid, and then as i grew up the world had me convinced i was wrong, surrounded by homophobia, religious trauma, and shame. i identified as bisexual for as long as i can remember, and spent too long wondering if that was really me, up until last year when i realised. i was so confused and i wasn’t sure in fear of being wrong, but i’ve never felt so right in my life. i have hope for the future. i am no longer opposed to marriage. each day that passes me by i feel even more lesbian than yesterday. i don’t have to pretend anymore. i don’t have to settle for a life that wasn’t made for me.

it’s so freeing.
