Fuck I’m at a fencing tournament and literally a minute after I reblogged this my dad told me that he talked to the point people and I’m probably going to win a medal.
I need to follow up to say I reblogged this last night, and this morning I got some of the best news of my life, like, a life dream come true news thing.
FUCK, I though it was just another lucky meme but LISTEN. Since a week ago I was waiting a phone call to confirm me if I got a job or not in my university. I reblogged this yesterday’s night “just for fun and because I don’t want any bagel to be mad with me”, and today’s afternoon, while I was losing my time as always, the professor I was supposed to work with called me and asked me for my personal information to start working with her.
AO3 has recently seen a wave of comments claiming to be made by the "AO3 Trust & Safety team", notifying you that your account has been restricted. These claims are not true. These comments are not being made by real AO3 volunteers and your account has not been restricted.
AO3 volunteers, including the Policy & Abuse committee, will never communicate with you through comments on your work. All important communications from AO3 will be sent through the email associated with your account. More general announcements will be posted on our official social media accounts or published as news posts on AO3 or OTW.org.
If you receive one of these comments, do not click on any of the links in it, reply to it, or interact with it in any way. The links in these comments lead to sites asking you to verify your identity by providing payment information. This is a common credit card scam. AO3 does not ever ask users to provide payment information, and the Policy & Abuse committee will never comment on your works asking you to "complete an identity verification process".
If you encounter one of these comments or believe your account has been compromised, please view the instructions under the cut!
We suggest that you review your account to verify that you're using a unique and secure password. Check out the advice from our Policy & Abuse committee on Protecting Your AO3 Account and Keeping Your Account Secure.
If you believe your AO3 account has been compromised for any reason (i.e. you received an email that your username changed), you can change or reset your password to ensure control of your account. Changing your password will automatically log you out of all sessions on all devices. You can find the option to change your password in your Preferences.
If you encounter one of these comments on your own work or someone else's, please report them to the Policy & Abuse committee. To do so:
Select the "Thread" button on the scammer's comment. This will take you to the specific comment page.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Policy Questions & Abuse Reports.
In the "Brief summary of Terms of Service violation" field, enter "Spambot".
In the "Description of the content you are reporting" field, enter "This is a spambot, their username is USERNAME."
Reporting in this fashion helps us auto-sort your report so that it can be handled as soon as a Policy & Abuse volunteer is available. To help us address reports about these types of bots as fast as possible, please only submit one report per account, and don't include multiple accounts in the same report.
We also encourage you to share this post and help spread the word about how to protect yourself from scammers and reduce spam on AO3.

Her “What the heck — it’s only a dream” is so heartbreaking because it illustrates clearly that she doesn’t understand the contract she’s entering into.
And she thinks this way because S’ym manipulates her into thinking this way. A few pages before, when he meets her, he tells her that it’s all happening inside her head, and then immediately before the above panels, he says this:
Madelyne unknowingly binds her soul to S’ym’s because he manipulates her into it, and after that she’s never really herself again. She both is and is not responsible for what she does as the Goblin Queen, and later comics tried to give the Goblin Queen a sense of interiority and treat her with compassion. But the original Madelyne, the one we see here, is lost.
But that’s not quite a correct explanation. How much of original Madelyne, after all, was really Madelyne? Who was Madelyne and how much could she trust her own memories and desires? Where did a “self” lie at all? She’s made a certain way by Sinister and then remade by S’ym, and is one of those women more real than the other?

This is a bit of a meta prediction, but no matter what Donovan had happen to him that Melinda identifies as 'alien', I don't think it could ever be as simple as: "He developed the same powers as Anya." Especially not with so much time put between a potential reveal and Melinda's initial session, where she puts the idea out there.
Endo has signaled his readers to anticipate Donovan having straightforward telepathy, and then kept the truth of the matter in the dark for an additional 28 chapters (approximately). The only option I see for an author, after creating a setup like that, is to turn the now established idea on its head. If it turns out to be exactly what we were told, then why make us wait on the reveal, right?
I think the most interesting alternatives are that Donovan either has a completely different powerset that can pass as telepathy, or his mind-reading ability is actually very limited, or highly specialized.
Do you have any thoughts about those possibilities? Are there any out-of-left-field mind powers you think would be fun or interesting for Donovan to have?
Oh, good thoughts! You may very well be right that Donovan's powers aren't exactly like Anya's, but I still feel like he has some ability to understand/read things others can't, whether it's telepathy, mind-reading, psychic powers, or something of the sort. The Desmond family dinner chapter always stuck out to me as further evidence of Donovan having such power due to his comment at the end that it was "worthwhile" despite no conversations taking place. Maybe he has an ability to "feel" others' intentions, even if he can't read minds exactly.
After the new chapter, I saw some discussion about how, if Donovan does have mind reading powers, perhaps his powers and Anya's would somehow cancel each other out if they tried to read the other's mind, or they'd get stuck in some kind of feedback loop. But that's assuming their powers are equal, which they might not be. Maybe Donovan has the more advanced abilities since he's older and was (supposedly) experimented on years ago, so he's able to suppress his thoughts from other mind readers like Anya while still reading her mind. Or maybe Anya, being the "newer" subject, has the more advanced powers but she's too young to utilize them properly. There's so many possibilities!
I reblogged her late last year and my 2024 has been very satisfying work-wise and (secure enough to not stress out) money-wise so far. Money Snake is wise and good.

Besides the goose she flew during her honeymoon, what other planes has Maddy flown that are identifiable?
Her first appearance, in Uncanny X-Men 168, she's seen with an early Lockheed C-130 (well, probably its civil variant, the L-100); there are bits of it that are a bit off that I could nitpick if I wanted but it's pretty clear to me that's what it's intended to be.
She's in that a couple times, actually, but I'm not posting every panel I can find she's in an airplane for, even though they all make me feel VERY gay.
Uncanny X-Men 176 has aforementioned Grumman Goose (and I'm gonna be real, if I were Scott and fumbled a Madelyne Pryor level baddie who went on a honeymoon with me in a GRUMMAN GOOSE you would just straight up never hear from me again).
And then, in Uncanny X-Men 235, she's flying a Beech Baron on behalf of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (which, tragically, is destroyed on the very next page).
That's all that comes to mind for me; there might be a few more at some points, but I don't have time to trawl through her entire publication history right now.

report and block. i'd also appreciate it if you shared this post, bc that blog was JUST created and was already tagging a LOT of people, and i know not everyone has the scam-sensing instinct, even if this might seem obvious to some.
