    she was just as thrilled to see him as he was to see her. her return hug was just a tight and her smile only grew as he spoke, a light chuckle leaving her as he took a step back. katsumi nodded, “ maybe we can talk grandma tsunade into letting you come. it would be nice to have you along on one of my trips. 

   she didn’t see why tsunade wouldn’t go along with it, and she knew that gaara wouldn’t be against her brother visiting suna either - he had mentioned it before. “ it sucked not having you around too. that’s one of the few things that sucks about travelling. “

     It felt oddly reminiscent of when he’d done the same for her brother when they were only kids. And that was before he had even developed a strong bond with Naruto, or so he thought, anyway. That wasn’t the case now. His body may have moved on it’s own, without Sasuke even having a moment to think about it, or even use his Susano’o for defense, but he knew what he was doing. And he had no regrets about it. She was important to him, and she was important to Naruto, and he wasn’t about to let her come to any harm if he could stop it. 

❝ You’d do the same thing for me, wouldn’t you? ❞ He asked as if it was obvious. He let out a slight wince as she tried to stop the bleeding. ❝ A simple ‘thank you’ would suffice. ❞

    of course she would have done the same. she knew that he knew that. she worked quickly to make sure the wound wouldn’t be dangerous. she shot him a look - not quite a glare but it wasn’t a very amused one. once she was sure that the wound was taken care of, she sat back, her hands going to rest in her lap. 

   “ of course i would. “ she looked at him for a long moment before letting out a soft sigh, “ thank you, sasuke. just... be careful. “

;; regarding the retrieving sasuke mission and the aftermath ( 5.5 - 5.21, some of season 6 )

  katsumi would have gone with - or at the very least volunteered to go with - the team to rescue / retrieve sasuke, however tsunade ordered her to remain back. the reasoning was found out later to be to have her work with the sand 3 in following the original rescue team and rock lee. katsumi lead kankuro, temari and gaara along the same path as the others until kankuro and temari went to help shikmaru and kiba. by now, rin has taught katsumi some healing techniques that take advantage of cho’s chakra, thus making katsumi’s part in remaining to assist rock lee if he needed it. 

  during the fight with kimimaro, she stays out of gaara’s way, only defending herself when need be. her main focus was making sure that rock lee was well. she did accrue some injuries just from slips in her own defensive maneuvers, but it is nothing serious and she doesnt have to be in the hospital. following kakashi bringing naruto back, she spends most of her time with naruto at the hospital. 

   due to her wishes to be something of an ambassador, she does take this time to get to know temari, kankuro and gaara while they remained in the village,
