He finished the academy and things couldn’t be better.  Well they could be but for tonight he was out celebrating with friends.  He was about three drinks in when he realized his friends had slowly been gravitated to pretty girls.  It left him feeling a bit out of sorts.  he looked around before he noticed her.  She was gorgeous and a little intimidating.

He decided he wanted to try.  After another drink he walked over to greet her.  A goofy smile on his face.  “Hello.”  He said leaning over trying to be smooth but he stumbled bumping into a chair.  “Sorry is this seat taken?”

Roy was going to give him hell about this later.

“Death is a part of life.  I have come to accept that.”  ..Says @dreamsofthepast​‘s Itachi to Konan, selected from misc prompts.

               “It is a part of life.” She repeats his statement with a short nod as a way of showing concurrence.  “But it is hard to accept when a life is taken too quickly.”

       Konan’s mind is briefly filled with images of Yahiko’s warm, encouraging smile.  But the images fade and are replaced by the image of the expression on his dying face and, worse, the vessel devoid of feeling that Nagato had turned his corpse into.  Beneath her cloak, the hair on the back of her neck raises.  She retreats further behind the fabric. 

      Years later, it was still hard to accept Yahiko’s death.  A death she felt could have been preventable had she made different decisions on that very day.  Things could have been so different had he lived.  So different.  Better, perhaps.

       Her light-colored eyes stare at the peaceful expression the man across from her wears.  He, too, had seen his fair share of premature deaths.  Some he had caused himself.. Just like her.  And yet he looked at peace with it.  Like he truly believed his words.  Her face remains smooth, though internally she feels a twinge of envy prick her heart.  She is thankful her cloak hides much of her face.

               “How does it feel to hold acceptance in your heart?”

He knows. He knows how Hisui feels more than Hisui could ever know.

He witnessed his own father's death and often pondered what life could've been like with his father. Not having to fear death at every turn, being able to hold his father's hand longer than a mere 8 or 9 years.....

His heart ached for his son.

Miroku was weak now. Protecting his family and friends was extremely important to him, and he couldn't do it as well now that the curse was gone.

But, Hisui was still a young boy. Even with Sango and Kohaku and the other demon slayers.....they weren't his father.

Hisui needed him.

Sango was right. He spoiled the children far too much.

The monk lets out a breath and reached for his son, gently pulling him into a soft hug.

"Alright. You win. I'll stay. I'll figure something out. Don't worry. I'll be here for you. I'll always be here for you."

1. What's a roleplay blog whose characterization you admire?

I really enjoy @dreamsofthepast and @handpickedriot characterizations together?? I love reading the interactions between their Nart muses and the rarepairs they do.  They are both really talented writers who obviously really care about the muses they’ve chosen and just. Idk I enjoy their interactions on my dash :’)
