iku/tsuki from the start knew that death was sealed within aris/ato min/ako. whilst certainly not from day one of the attack on the moonlight bridge itself--- but before he starts gathering persona users, starting with mitsur/u, he had most definitely begun to orchestrate bringing the arisat/os back to iwato/dai.
this all culminates that he has had access to aig/is since the attack on the moonlight bridge or gained access shortly after. attempting to repair her & gather the data from her memories about what happened that night, hellbent on not giving up his & kou/etsu kiri/jo’s goal to bring about the fall. accessing into ai/gis via her memory storage, as well as her pa/pillon heart which was created from a plume of dusk known to be a fragment of nyx’s body, the events of the moonlight bridge. there he saw ai/is & her sisters fight against the thirteenth shadow & in turn, saw the young boy cry out for help for his dying sister as well as a/igis’ decision to seal the shadow within the girl in hopes of delaying the fall.
considering that it’s fairly easy to find the list of causalities & wounded of that night in the databanks of ki/rijo, it took ikuts/uki no time at all to find the twins. however when he did finally identify & locate the two, they had already been shipped off outside of iw/atodai & the hy/ōgo prefecture entirely. naturally this buys him time, time to repair aigi/s time to really dig into the shadows time to figure out how to reform the thirteenth shadow leading to the birth of the prince & thus him summoning n/yx for the fall.
so he bides, he researches, he preps, he studies. he becomes director to gek/koukan so he can have greater control of the dorms, the transfers. he places himself in a position of power to better weave the web of lies & manipulation. more impressively never once giving the first members of sees a reason to distrust him. in fact he’s more honest about himself, about what kou/etsu did. using that willingness to speak up as a way to truly bait m/itsuru, akih/iko, & shin/jiro to trust him. && of course later yu/kari as she joins shortly before the arisa/tos transfer.
in mi/nako’s expulsion from her prior school arises a opportunity for iku/tsuki. unbeknownst to him the twins had already agreed on their own to attempt to come home, to finally return to iwato/dai. however, due to his own devices it’s all the more easy for the two. they are near instantly accepted into the school, they qualify for scholarships, they have approval for living in the dorms. it’s a bit too easy all things considering with min/ako’s expulsion on her record. it’s all in ik/utsuki’s favor.
for you see, he regards m/inako as a saintess of sorts by this point. his delusions of the fall, of n/yx, of the new world molding & stirring in his mind the whole time mixing with the fact that the thirteenth shadow is sealed within min/ako. to iku/tsuki, min/ako is a blessing. she’s the savior of death, she’s the vessel, she’s it’s mother. in his notes & research found after his death by fu/uka, but also by ji/n before the director’s death, that ikut/suki was fanatically obsessed with min/ako. he would label her the death mother, mother of death. countless entries about how with each felled full moon shadow the shadow harbored within her grew stronger & she with it as well. documents uncovered & stolen from the kir/ijo-run hospital where the twins were brought after the night of the moonlight bridge with her medical files & the doctor’s notes about her miraculous recovery despite her age, mortal wounds, & overall health when she was brought in for surgery & treatment. he studies her, he researches her. she’s a key, she’s the final piece. what is revealed after his death is his obsession; however his actions on the roof of the observatory that night showcase such first hand.
that night when he orders aig/is to attack sees, all but one is bound & chained up upon the crosses staked at the top of the observatory of tartar/us. on the ledge is m/inako, passed out & obscured by ikutsu/ki as he stands in front of her blocking the view from sees. it’s there he orders a/igis to kill mi/tsuru’s father, to kill them. all the while min/ato struggles furiously in an anger extremely unlike him to get free of the shackles & to get to his sister. as ai/gis fails to do as told, she’s shoved aside by ikutsu/ki as he shoots take/haru who shoots back--- taking ikuts/uki with him. however, the chairman would not be so instantly taken down, rising to then turn toward the now awake min/ako. his plan was to take her down with him as he grabs her & tosses her off the observatory ledge with the sees kids with naught to do but watch.
this moment is when min/ato first awakens to his ultimate persona, messiah. screaming in rage as he watches min/ako fall their eyes locking hers in fear & his in violent. from him, without an evoker, a surge of power bursts from the boy that shatters the iron chains sending the teens tumbling to the ground. he then rushing toward the ledge, toward ik/utsuki as from the depths rises the grand persona itself, in min/ato’s own image holding his sister safe & sound. ikuts/uki in this moment would laugh as the last of his sanity crumbles, declaring “ OH TO KNOW NOW THERE IS NO DEATH WITHOUT LIFE. IT’S YOU BOY, YOU. “ before mina/to in all his rage, all his anger, all his violence, all his fear of losing his sister once more pushes the man off the ledge as messiah flies overhead to behind him letting min/ako to leave it’s arms & fade back into the subconscious of mi/nato’s mind. in the wake of the shock, the dust settling as everyone scrambles to their feet. rushing to both m/itsuru’s father to mi/nako as she collapses to the ground. the waves of panic & fear overcoming her entire person, unable to move unable to speak. m/inato stands on the ledge as realization comes to him, his eyes to his hands. naught but the sound of mits/uru’s cries can be heard in the air.
it is soon before this event that ji/n of str/ega would access the files in ikuts/uki’s harddrive under the request of tak/aya, frustrated that sees insists on destroying the dark hour. it is then they both learn of the truth. that the dark hour is not almost at it’s end, but it’s at it’s peak. the full moon shadows have been slain & compiled inside that of the vessel, inside of min/ako & reborn anew into he who will bring about the fall.
understanding this new crucial bit of information, taka/ya puts the pieces together. str/ega & ikuts/uki had been long since working together in each other’s favor. stre/ga left to do as they please as long as they do not get in the way of ikut/suki’s plans, he turning his eyes away & even covering up their existence so that not only for them to be hidden from sees but also to hide the connection he has to these three youths. however the friction between them grows as the then-ignorant tak/aya pushes to attack & deter the deaths of those full moon shadows. ikuts/uki demanding that stre/ga back off & stay away specifically from mina/ko. the mission of august with the chariot arcana, when str/ega approaches sees to lock them underground, tak/aya would approach min/ako & cup her face idly questioning ‘ why is it that he revers you so ? ’ but as he paws through the various files, jin uncovering more & more research journal entries studies video rants audio recordings, it becomes clear the importance mina/ko has to the end. to the fall.
she is the vessel after all, she is the one who harbors death. && so tak/aya stirs the pot. using this as the basis for feeding the masses, to have a figure to turn to. she who bore the prince who will save us ! who will bring the fall ! the red eyed mother of death ! using that charm, that charisma to brainwash those ready, willing, eager to hear him & those who would think they’d never fall for such easily crafting a growing cult. a growing congregation. the idea that the more & more who turn to the faith, the stronger the prince will be & the easier it shall be for nyx to take humanity. the hope that sees will give up & accept the fate they can’t change.
towards those final weeks in january, however, there would be fanatics that in their apathy see min/ako as she goes to school & follow her. watch her from a distance, cry at the sight of her, beg for their salvation. the imagery taka/ya placed in their heads with just his words, his hymns far more potent than a photograph. on that final day, the day to face n/yx, tak/aya has told his followers to take to the streets & crowd the dorms. blocking any from exiting or entering. the hopes to discourage those inside completely.
but as we all know when the dark hour clock strikes, that door would open & the two of life & death would step out leading their friends. each step rife with confidence, with stalwart determination.

it is no wonder that when mina/zuki s/ho rumages around ikuts/uki’s computers, his files, his old hauntings, he becomes obsessed with meeting this beloved saintess. this cherished person that iku/tsuki loved & held dear before anyone else. as she was to be the one who brought death. how fun it would be, to meet her. to share in that pain ikut/suki had given him.
we are in the single digits until @foolshoujo's minako's birthday... keep your eyes open, farllee... i have to come up with an even better ask than last year. i am determined i can.
