Me fucking too, Steve
it makes me sick w how badly they ruined steve rogers. baby girl was a chronically ill severely BULLIED child raised by a single mom in brooklyn. he spent his entire young adult hood getting into fights he wouldn’t win bc he would never let anyone not have someone in their corner. he always stood up for what he believed in. captain america was just going to be used as war propaganda until he defied direct orders at a chance to save his best friend. he became a fugitive because he wouldn’t let people control him or his friends and use them as pawns in political games, esp when he’d already spent years working for hydra without knowing it. he chose to drop the american flag bc it didn’t align with his values. he was a GOOD and PROGRESSIVE man who they sent back to the 50s (a decade that was the epitome of traditional values) moved the city boy into rural farmland and forced him into a conservative poster boy. literally the antithesis of who he was. I’m SICK I tell you SICK
"oh its just a comic book character its just one movie anyways" MILLIONS of people watch and are influenced by the mcu. he's an ANTI FASCIST anti racist anti (insert oppressive system) character. and now its normalized for me to see comments like "POV steve rogers sees a black person for the first time" and make jokes about him being conservative. endgame bastardized a character w decades of precedence as a borderline radical to "wrap up" an actors contract just to bring him back less than ten years later. anything would have been better, and for me as a fan since I was eleven, that includes death.
Andy Barber vs. Steve Rogers
absolutely love the idea of physical differences between Steve and Bucky as if they’ve both been designed by a comic book artist to have different silhouettes, eg. Steve all swooping powerful elegant lines like an olympic gymnast or swimmer, as if he was carved out of marble, and Bucky all blocky square-jawed / browed / shouldered beef like a rugby player as if he was hewn from granite 🤩🥰🔥
I genuinely can’t tell so i’m asking for opinions, do you feel like sending Marc to the afterlife according to the ancient egyptian religion was a bit reductive of the fact he’s jewish?

I just wanna talk for a minute about this shot. This right here is a triumph of writing, directing, editing, acting, and everything in between. All of it comes together, but the performance is the glue of it. Sebastian Stan sells this look so well, and it tells you everything without a single word uttered. Lesser filmmakers would have stopped the scene dead here to give us a series of flashbacks to spell out what’s going on in the mind of James Buchanan Barnes as his memories come back in a flood of pain and grief and loss. Instead, they just let the performance speak for itself, because the actor fucking crushes it here. I am a huge, HUGE fan of scenes where the filmmakers don’t spell it out in some flashback montage or exposition, and just rely on the film storytelling adage, “show, don’t tell” by letting an actor act. It’s such a perfect moment, the climax of the Steve and Bucky arc for this film, in a movie full of great choices, resulting in a direct assault on the feels. Fuck, I love this scene. fuck-me-barnes
like, I saw the tears in his eyes the first time in the theatre and I just lost it. 15 months later: still not over it.
96 months later and i’m still not over it tbh

Y’all hate on tops so much but one look at u and we could destroy u all

I don't think I've felt truly alive since that day in early 2020 when Sebastian Stan tweeted that screenshot of a tweet absolutely slandering Steve's ending in Endgame and then John Boyega tweeted "welcome Mr Stan". Everything in the world went downhill after that
Someone just asked me what the tweet was and I somehow accidentally deleted the ask but here you go
Man really posted this on his Instagram story with no caption and then never said anything about it ever again

Steve: Did you just flirt with me?
Bucky: Have been since the Great Depression but thanks for noticing.
Look at that
