A Fickle Heart Is The Only Constant Trixya | (Loosely) A Howl’s Moving Castle AU | Lesbian | In Progress In front of them the shadows in the alleyway start to dance, and Trixie is petrified. Her heart is beating out of her chest and she’s got no hope but to cling to the arms of her stranger as they drag Trixie to the right, into the next alley. This one dead ends and as the noise behind them swells, Trixie truly panics. This is how she’ll die, in an alley in the hands of a stranger because she was too stupid to lock up on time.

The Fox and The Tree
“Oh, Apple tree,” The Fox lamented, laying down between it’s sprawling roots. “I do not understand. I am here. And he is not. We had established ties.”
The tree creaked, “Dear Fox, he is not your master. You must be the master of your own life.”
“But Tree! He- He tamed me! He always came at the same time. And now he is not here, and thus I cry!” Fox howled. “Oh Fox, you knew that he would leave. You have set yourself up for this heartbreak. As you held on, now it is time to let go.”
“You do not understand!” Fox growled. “You are but an apple tree! You do not know what it is like to be tamed! To trust and then be betrayed!” Tree rustled his leaves loudly in response. “You are responsible for what you have tamed! I told the prince this, and I thought he would be different. He did not come from Earth. Yet, he is just like man.”
Tree bowed his old branches to shelter Fox. “Oh Fox, you think I do not know. Yet I have spent many years on earth. Standing. Always here, in this same spot. From when I was a young sprout all the way to this conversation. I have seen many come and sprawl down between my roots. I have seen many come and pick my fruit. Yet, they never stay. They are designed to move, as are you. One day, you too will walk on. And I will wait here, standing forever. You too, Fox, are designed to move on.”
