It worries me how little people know about nutrition. The media doesn’t care about your health. They care about sales. And yet people base their lives around whatever the media is promoting. You can try every diet in the book but all you will end up with is a screwed up metabolism and more weight then when you started.
This is why I chose to study nutrition. I want to help people understand.

Do you ever go through those phases where you don’t feel like talking to anyone for a few days, not because you’re mad but simply because you just don’t feel like it?

Hi! I don't know if you'd be able to give me advice on this or not, but I'm going to ask: how do I eat healthy? Lately, I've been gaining a lot of weight and it makes me really uncomfortable with myself. My family doesn't really like to eat foods that are good for you, and I'm sort of young, so I usually don't have a choice on what's being made for lunch or dinner. If you're able to give some sort of advice on this, I'd appreciate it <3
in regards to gaining weight, i gain weight too and it's okay for your body to be changing :) if you really feel uncomfortable though, then by all means take control and change your diet to achieve the body you want (it is your body after all). well you should start off by cutting out or cutting down on some bad foods like sugars, salt, refined carbohydrates, saturated fats and chemicals (any artificial preservatives, additives and flavourings). then replace them with healthy things like honey for sugars, wholegrains for refined carbohydrates and plant oils for saturated fats. try to get them to buy more healthy foods and maybe offer to go grocery shopping with them so you can pick out healthy foods? you could also get some healthy lunch and dinner recipes of the internet that are easy to cook and help your family cook them. i think to be healthy means to eat a wide range of foods, even if some are "bad" for you like milk and cheese, so just eat a varied diet and you'll be healthy. take advantage of being able to make your own breakfast and make it as healthy as possible; breakfast should be 70% fruit, 20% carbohydrates and 10% protein. so you could have a fruit smoothie with yogurt as protein and granola as carbohydrate or even a fruit salad with an egg as protein and wholegrain bread as carbohydrate. experiment with different breakfast ideas. try eat more dark, leafy greens like spinach, broccoli, kale etc. because people often overlook these vegetables. for snacks you could eat some mixed nuts, seeds and dried fruit like goji berries. healthy eating is also about feeling happy with what you are eating, so if you feel happy eating white pasta then eat it! food should be enjoyed. i have a health board here if you need ideas: http://pinterest.com/orlamaye/health/
guys i feel so sad/nostalgic i just listened to a song that reminds me of december 2011 and i just realized how much i miss the past, i mean i even miss a few months ago. time is going by so fast and i'm nearly 17. i'm just feeling really emotional and lonely i guess but i just have this obsession with the past and i can't let it go, i miss things that happened even though good things are happening now. next year i'll be finishing school and i'm scared. i feel like if i just killed myself now the present and my past would last forever i don't even know what i'm saying does anyone want to talk with me?
