future
noun
“a period of time following the moment of speaking or writing; time regarded as still to come.”
i often wonder what the future holds. one day it feels as if everything has been figured out. i’ll study this to become that. i will have achieved x by y. that is my future. yet other days, i have doubts and uncertainties. i suffer from bundles of nerves and anxieties, always asking myself, “is this path the right one for me? is this my future?”
a lot of my concerns have stemmed from moving interstate. i knew leaving my home city behind wasn’t the right decision. but i did it anyway for a chance to experience something fresh. new. unknown. exciting. despite my decision bringing inevitable hardships, it has been eye opening. i have learnt what i truly want in my future. i want to be surrounded by family, friends, a gorgeous city that makes me feel wholesome, and brings comfort and happiness, all in one little package. i want to wander into small cafes, sipping on freshly brewed coffee while hunched over my latest novel. i want to discover new eateries located in obscure locations, find hidden fashion pieces wedged between others, attend the local history exhibitions. in the end i want to be me.
