In my personal experience, if you aren’t careful, the soul contained in the automaton will eventually mix in and turn your automaton into a living creature. Honestly living automatons are surprisingly easy to do accidentally.

Technically, you could pull the soul out, wipe her memories, redraw your magical containment circle, maybe change the substrate out, and try again to see if you’ve got it properly separating soul and body? Or you could try grinding up the soul to reduce it to pure energy , but at that point it’s not a soul, and while you would have technically purified its arcane potency you would also be reducing its maximum throughput by a lot. Unless you’re willing to pull dozens of warlock souls for one automaton, I wouldn’t recommend being that drastic.

No, honestly, I think you should just treat it like a new apprentice. Teach it to be a proper dungeon mistress like yourself! You can always flood its mind with lust and corrupt it like any other adventurer if it starts being too disobedient but with a good hiding hand I bet it’ll take to the job like a fish to water!

Yeah I didn't want to grind out the soul because the whole appeal of using a mortal soul as fuel for me was that it's endlessly self-sustaining. I'll try changing the substrate and reworking the magical circle like you said! I'll reread my tomes on soul binding and containment and see if I can try a different rune pattern. So, we've taken one of her warlocks and we're splitting her over and over by forcing her alters into pacts then breaking them again with divergent commands. Yeah she's at 1024 alters so far, and since a demon's power grows according to the number of souls they gather, I think my friend and I just found a way to create a soul farm out of a single individual! Very promising!
