Che’ Noir & Apollo Brown - “As God Intended”
Here at ForDaFresh, we honestly hate typing. Especially when we don’t know exactly where to begin, when describing a project where just the mere idea of its existence seems mythical.
Well known Detroit “beat constructionist” Apollo Brown has created music for many legends in the game that spans from Ras Kass, Planet Asia, and Pharoahe Monch all the way to Royce Da 5′9″, Westside Gunn and Ghostface Killa. That’s just to name a few. His catalog is a long resume off insane production credits and collaborations courtesy of the always prolific Mellow Music Group.
Che’ Noir...if you have not heard of her by this point...you are not doing yourself a favor if you don’t take heed now. In “Silent Dreams”, a track from RJ Payne featuring Che, in her verse she spits: “...I got retail for resell/Just email ya purchase/I gave yall verses of the year along with detailed verses/If you compare me...don’t compare as a female version”. And on every beat that she’s demolished, as well as every track that she been featured on with other artists...she has consistently out shined both.
After a few years of tearing shit up on her own releases, and taking the spotlight on tracks that have featured some heavy weights...the Buffalo, NY MC has done way more that just held her own. That would be an understatement.
Just as Apollo, Che’ Noir has an insane resume of collaborations where she has been able to command respect from peers and listeners alike. The list includes 38 Spesh, Planet Asia, Termanology, Kool G. Rap, Benny The Butcher, the late Fred The Godson, and many more.
So when we heard that there is now an upcoming collaborative release featuring Che’ Noir on the mic with Apollo Brown on the beats...we were beyond excited.
The album entitled, “As God Intended” which will drop on July 10th via Mellow Music Group will astonishingly be Noir’s 4th solo album release in just a little under 3 years. Mellow Music states, “the pair’s new album, “As God Intended”, drifts up and down city streets and offers a glimpse behind closed doors, telling the stories of gunshots, missing fathers, & playing the system. The new album features Skyzoo, Blakk Soul, Planet Asia, Ty Farris, and Black Thought”. And it is exactly “As God Intended.”
