"Critter Cuisine Connoisseur"

Everyone in Critter Valley knows Pickypiggy, and if you don't, her cooking is going to change that very quickly. I wonder what she's thinking about cooking next...

I finally got around to drawing Picky! This is partially an appreciation gift for @sixfinn, who recently helped me when I was going through an art slump. Regardless, she's been a girlie I've been meaning to draw for a while now, and I love the freckled, slightly chubby design I came up with! I'm still figuring out what I want to do for her pendant (thus why she's in an apron instead) so if anyone has any ideas for her pendant, let me know!

"Ruffling Some Feathers"

Hoppy felt bad for Kickin. The rooster had been on a losing streak in their soccer matches for days now, and although today's game was close it ultimately ended in a last-second goal shot that denied him his victory. The good news was that this time Hoppy had an idea to help her best friend cheer up - even if the consolation prize she had in mind might ruffle some feathers.

I finally got around to drawing these two!!! I absolutely love their ship dynamic of being friends, rivals, and romantic partners all at the same time. As for the drawing itself, I'm fairly proud of how the shading and colors turned out, especially the eyes. I tried to make them compliment their color schemes and pendants, and I gotta say the results look really appealing! (I'm one of the few artists I know that draws the Critters without black eyes, after all.) Enjoy, my friends. :D

"Jack Pepper, P.I. for Hire"

"Nothing about the case felt normal. The disappearances, the assassination attempts, the fanatics after my life. It all left a bad taste in my mouth like a week-old block of cheddar. But I had a job to do, and nothing was going to stop me from uncovering this mess."

I recently started playing Mouse: P.I. for Hire and have been loving it! The characters and setting are fantastic, and I highly recommend giving it a shot. In any case, I thought it would be interesting to see how well I could adapt my current artwork flow into a black-and-white style. I think it turned out pretty well, although I'm still figuring out how to maximize efficiency in general (seriously, if you have any advice on speed tips for art, please let me know).

"Silent Glare"

Given enough time, notoriety and infamy can become weapons of their own in the Wild West. Guns and knives may tear the flesh, but only those who have earned the respect of others can shatter the mind with fear. All it takes is one look into their eyes.

I honestly had a ton of fun doing this one. It was tough going back to a more complex background after last month's drawing, but all things considered I improved on the texturing a ton and did a way more dynamic pose than most others I've done so far. Plus, I actually got this one done in not to lengthy of a time! I'm still looking to improve in a lot of areas, so if you have any constructive criticism, please feel free to let me know. :)

Since I wanted to start brainstorming my own designs for the Critters, here's some quick art I made for each of them! I think how well each of them turned out varies, but it's nice to have a groundwork I can build off of for future projects. (Not sure if my next project will involve them or not, but definitely at some point).

"A Rainbow and Her Sunshine"

A bright-hearted bundle of energy and a shy, talented artist may seem like an odd pairing at first, but anyone who knows Dogday and Craftycorn know they each bring something special out of the other. After all, a rainbow can't light up the sky without a little sunshine.

This was easily the most fun I've had drawing in a while. I got to try out so many new techniques, and for the most part they were a wild success. (For example, you have no idea how much better this started looking when I started using the overlay setting for my shading layer). Plus, this ship is absolute peak, and I love that I've finally gotten around to drawing it.

"Leaving Home"

Annabelle always wondered if leaving Cliffport would feel liberating or terrifying. Now, as she looked out one last time toward the life she was leaving behind in search of answers, she finally realized that it was both.

This one was both incredibly rewarding yet stressful. I don't know what came over me that decided I should do two projects with heavily demanding backgrounds in a row, but here we are. The next piece I do will probably be less ambitious, but I hope I can start utilizing and optimizing some of the lessons I took from this piece going forward.

"Dance on the Lake"

This piece was a long time coming for me. I first came up with these two Original Characters - Cecil and Maralen - all the way back in early 2024 after learning about Wish's early concept art and the community around it. What started as my take on that story slowly evolved into one of my favorite original storylines I've ever made. The next step I wanted to take was clear - I wanted to draw the starlit dance upon a lake that I had imagined as the powerful romantic moment. The one I'd envisioned for the story from the very beginning. The problem? It was really, really ambitious for me at the time.

Between my focus shifting to other places besides art for a while and being intimidated by how detailed I wanted it to be, this drawing sat as nothing more than a half-finished sketch for over two years. Now, however, I'm proud to finally present this to you all now that I'm making attempts to stay active with my art. I'm honestly really proud of how this turned out, and to finally show you guys my fantasy world I've held dear for so long. Enjoy!

"First Strike"

Jessie knows well that in the ruthless land of the wild west, a swift hand can mean the difference between life and death.

This piece took me way, way longer than I thought it would (I got a little busy with other stuff in my life for a bit) but fortunately I managed to finish it before the end of February. I was aiming to try a bit of perspective and shading with this piece, and I think in that regard it went fairly well.

It took way longer than I hoped it would, but here's a follow up to the previous piece I did. He is from the same story as well, being the other main character alongside Annabelle. I might try to make a post explaining the lore sometime soon, but until then I hope you enjoy.
