.Limited Sight
If Ryoko had a list of what she was expecting to see today on the streets of Hive City, a pink-haired woman in a hooded cloak wasnât one of them. She wore a smile that seemed as sweet as her own. Ryokoâs eyes wandered from her face to the snake-like ornament she wore around her waist, but those seemed to be the least noteworthy things about her.Â
Not very many individuals here had midsections constructed out of glass and sand.Â
âCertainly, miss,â she said, acting as though she was only speaking to one of her old neighbors. âHmmmhmmm, thank you for the warning though.â
Her skin looked a little paler than her own. That aside, Ryoko took a hold of her hand with little hesitation. Even while her systems were abuzz with activity, she continued to be nonchalant.Â
âWhat is it you need?â
âHow nice to find such polite young ladies willing to humor lilâ ol me. You have my gratitude.â Humming quite happily now, Aeon took and held the girlâs hands gently in her own. A test was all she sought, an evaluation of her powers or rather, the new lack of them. She felt drained, powerless, a shell of a shell of her former self and it was all thanks to the marvelous scientists who had graciously brought her here.
The thought brought a twitch and a squeeze of the hand she grasped.
âAs expected. I donât see anything. No past, no future, no ifs or perhaps. I must admit, Iâm a little...â Irritated? Furious? ENRAGED? â... perplexed. Ah.â
âHow rude of me. I wanted to see your ... fortune I thought it may have been one of the powers left to me but they seem to have taken that as well. What a shame!â
