Don't take this as an attack or me being rude, I don't understand why few reblogs compared to likes mean something. I run a decently popular idol X idol blog and I often get 50-100 notes with no reblogs, I never thought about reblogs being more valuable than likes. Likes shows people like it :O

Dont worry, you’re not rude at all! The difference in an artist’s case is that many of us want to pursue art more professionally and to make money, and for that you need public recognition and popularity. Unfortunately, likes don’t really help any artist to get their work out and noticed. The best way to show that you support a new artist imo is to help them actually grow and share their stuff! Of course someone could just be happy to just have a place to leave art regardless of who notices it, but I (a VERY broke student) see it as a potential way to make money too, so getting many reblogs counts a lot towards that goal.

#I'm a photo major and I had a separate blog for photos and I ended up deleting it because I was getting maybe a handful of likes #it's really disheartening to put so much work into something and not get much recognition for it
