Sometimes you just have to take a step back from the situation and realise when some things are just not working. I always thought in a relationship it was always the both of you against a problem but sometimes the other individual may not have the emotional capacity to withstand going through the problem. This can be because of past trauma. When this happens it can be very frustrating when you, someone who’s recently healed from your past, to persistently want to help them and defeat the problem but they’re not allowing you in just yet. My word is patience and selflessness. These things take time. they took time to build up so they will take time to break down and you have to be willing to accept that.
However, if it is coming between you and your mental health that is when the well has been polluted and you have to dip before it spreads. We underestimate how much energy can be contagious. Negative energy can be transferred and once it does it can act as a catalyst to remind you of everything flawed about yourself. This is a toxic situation. Stop listening to everything social media is saying and listen to your heart and mind. Leaving the relationship will not mean you gave up early it just means you love yourself too much to hurt yourself especially when whatever you’re sacrificing is not even being recognised. It means you care for the person enough to allow them to heal themselves and if the universe and God allows, come back to you. It doesn’t make you any less of a “bad b” or hinder your growth. It actually pushes your growth dear.
On that note remember 1 Colossians 13
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
