More progress on the paper koi lanterns that I’ve been designing. I’ve finalized the designs and now I’m testing out different materials and colors before making the diy kits :)

I made a butterfly koi variation of my paper koi lantern. Butterfly koi are type of koi with extra long fins. I’ve always loved how beautiful the flowing fins are and wanted to make one.

Here I’m testing out the first prototype with different led lights. More photos to come as I finalize the designs. These are made from only cardstock, no glue or tape. The scales interlock to hold everything together. I’ll be selling diy kits in the future so you can make your own koi lantern :)

So I decided to subscribe to Q-box for the heck of it to try it out. And this is the October's box. Some pretty cool and cute things I didn't expect to have. I only bought the October box instead of doing the 3 months subscription, because I just wanted to try it and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not, but so far, not so bad. The October box was $24.95, plus shipping fee is $7.50, which comes to a total of $32.45. But I wouldn't mind buying another box from them again.
