Nick pleas with the group, I mean, we--we're not talking about addiction, we're talking about murder here, so we need your help. Listen, I've left my home phone number at the table in the back. I'll keep it as private as-- as I possibly can, so please give me a call.

Nick tells the group, We have a list of names and we will systematically begin to go through them, possibly embarrassing some of you, and certainly violating the program's tenet of privacy, but this is going to take time, during which the killer may have a chance to strike again, so this is why, I'm asking you, if you have any information at all, to break the rules of privacy and come forward.

The crowd of people listen to Nick's plea. Nick continues, There's a killer among us in this room tonight, a killer... That some of you may have information about. Now, this killer knew Monica and her problem intimately.

At a 12-step meeting, Nick pleads to the members for help. Hi, my name's Nick, and I have a confession to make. I've been lying to you the last couple of weeks. While I freely admit that I am addict, I was also here because I'm a cop.

Schanke tells Nick, Okay, so she is left-handed. That doesn't mean she didn't do it. Nick answers, Well, that along with her alibi, means we don't have enough to hold her. Schanke says, Oh, that makes me real comfortable. Nick says, The killer is on that list. Schanke answers, I hope so, because there are twenty names here. Some dance card.

Nick tells Monica, You're not betraying anyone, Monica. You can't think of it that way. Monica says, It's a little too late not to betray anyone, isn't it, Nick? Monica grabs the pen with her right hand and taps the table. She then transfers the pen to her left hand and begins to write her list.

Back at the 27th precinct, Nick and Schanke interrogate Monica. Nick says, I want you to write down every 12-step member that you've had a relationship with. Monica answers, It's a very long list. Schanke answers, We have all night. Monica seems reluctant.

Natalie says, Well, the needle jab of the second victim and tonight's knife slashes were made with the killer's right hand, so unless she's a lefty. I'd say you don't have a leg to stand on. Schanke walks up and asks, Will you two let me in on what's going on here? And how the hell did you get here from "The Raven" so fast without a car? Nick says, Schanke, um, I truly apologize for my behavior tonight and any pain I might have caused you. Schanke says, You're not going to give me an answer, are you? Nick asks, Can we setup and interrogation with Monica tonight? Schanke says, She's down at the station. Why not? Nick asks, Why not? Schanke is puffing on a cigarette, and Nick grabs it out of his mouth then throws it away. Nick says, Because it's bad for you, that's why not.

Nick asks, Aren't we supposed to acknowledge and apologize for any pain we might have caused? Natalie nods her head and says, Hey, that's okay. Natalie grabs Nick's hand and he embraces her hand into his hands. Natalie says, No one said that this was going to be easy. Nick says, Monica is innocent, Nat.

At the crime scene, Nick and Natalie have a conversation. Nick says, She didn't do it, Nat. It was something you said about finding it within myself. I ran up to the room and saw her with the body. It all seemed to go away. It was like the cop in me took over. Natalie bumps into Nick and says, Well, maybe that's part of the equation.

Nick bursts in through the kicked down door and is shocked by what he sees. Monica is half dressed and crying over a man's body with blood coming from his neck. Monica says, I didn't do this. I didn't do this. Oh, my God. I swear I didn't do this.

Nick walks down the dark hallway of the hotel in search of Monica. Nick using his vampiric hearing listens and hears Monica. Monica voice is heard saying, Why is this happening to me? Nick kicks the door down.

Nick lands in front of a hotel then goes in. As Nick walks pass the lobby towards the elevators. The hotel clerk comes down the stairs and asks, Hey, man, you want a rubdown? I got a nice girl up here for you. Nick asks, Where's Monica? The clerk answers, She's with someone right now-- Nick interrupts him by grabbing him and slamming against the elevator door. Knocking him out.

Nick says, No, no, no, no, this is perfect. This makes perfect sense, Nat. Monica says recovery is just the space between fixes. Nick vamps out, showing his green vampire eyes to Natalie. Nick continues, I think I'll show her what backsliding really is. Nick takes off snarling and goes through the window flying into the night sky. Natalie yells, Nick!

Natalie asks, Do you know where she is? Nick answers, Oh, that's right. I'm supposed to bring her in, aren't I? Natalie says, Nick, let Schanke do it.

Natalie says, Come on, Nick, she's and addicted, co-dependent. She lost control! Nick answers, She's a murderer. Natalie says, A suspect. Nick says, No, no. She's a killer, like myself. An irredeemable, uncontrollable beast. Now, that's the way it is. That... is my reality.

Natalie asks, Oh, what? Did somebody tell you there was an easy cure, Nick? Because they were lying. You have to find the answer within yourself, and just because failed you doesn't give you the excuse to-- Nick interrupts, She betrayed my trust! My hope.
