She has no doubt that the other deity is confused. Even she is a little confused. She’s not entirely certain what had prompted the almost foreign gesture. Maybe it was something he had said––though doubtful, not impossible––or maybe it had just been one or those days, or maybe she’s just been thinking too much and she had needed the contact to ground her in reality again.

Regardless, at his questioning ‘thank you’, she releases him and with the tiniest of smiles––and really it’s found more in her eyes than in that slight trace of an upturn to the corners of her mouth––she shakes her head.

“… Don’t get used to it.”

"First of all,” she begins, a tired but no less sardonic note to her voice as she addresses him, hands still securely in her coat pockets, “––you really wouldn’t want me to do that. I’ve been fighting Chaos and its creatures since before you were born. I am far stronger than I look.” Even with all of the imbalance and disorder of today.

Which leads into the second point, one that she was reluctant to admit.

“Second… there is something stopping me, besides restraint. It is why I sought you out in the first place today… I need…”

There’s another long pause before she sighs, deciding to just get it over with.

“I need help,” she says at last, the last word barely escaping. She doesn’t like admitting it. But she’s tired and, as pathetic as he may or may not find it, she doesn’t have anyone else to go to.

I like how much I love languages? It’s fairly easy for me to understand (structure/cultural-wise) and pick up a lot of different languages to varying degrees. Even if it’s just remembering important conversation phrases and whatnot? I mean, I even took a class on constructed languages (think Tolkien, Klingon, etc) and continue to make my own as a result.

I like my curiosity. Once I’m curious about something, I will research and read and study it ridiculously until I have a whole binder full of print outs. (If we talk regularly and you ever need information on something, just send me a message. I will research the daylights out of it for you, time permitting.) While this might seem strange to some people, it’s helped me build up a pretty wide knowledge base. And, hey, even if I don’t remember everything exactly, I have a nifty little binder to look back at.

Nifty. I use the word nifty [and other outdated words], and that makes me giggle sometimes. :’)

I am easily amused, which means I’m seldom ever really bored. If anyone has seen Dreamworks’ Rise of the Guardians, I’m North [both metaphorically and RP-wise haha]. Give me lights on trees or clouds in the sky or pen and paper and I will be amused for hours. xD ]

I like my writing? [This is one of my rollercoaster ones, but right now I like it and that’s something, right? :’) ] Back to numbers one and two, I do a lot of research and put a lot of time and effort into my writing, both here and in original work. I build worlds, languages, characters, et cetera, and [again, mostly] I’m pretty happy with the progress I’ve made over the years. As someone who identifies as being a writer [not ‘I write’ but ‘I am a writer’, and anyone who understands that––or anything like it––will definitely know there is a difference], that’s important for me. So, at the moment, I like my writing and as a result, I’m pretty okay with myself right now, too. :’)

@winewomenwit, you would totally be one of the followers I would send this to, but I’m pretty sure you’ve already been bombarded with them so would you prefer that I spare you? :’) Either way, I can tell you that you’re pretty freaking awesome. Thanks for thinking of me when you sent these out. ^__^

Hearing the whispered statement, from Dio no less, is enough to set her nerves on edge. Because seldom does anything good ever result from Dio thinking he has to whisper something to her.

So she does exactly as he had instructed, her normally perfect posture going even more rigid as her muscles tense, millennia of always having to be prepared for fight or flight.

“Why?……” she quietly questions, the faintest trace of wariness in her voice before she adds, “This had better not be one of your tricks………”

The irritation that arises at his question––as though she's the one prone to create mischief and trouble––rolls off of her in waves but she decides there are more important matters at the moment.

“I’m not doing anything,” she replies, and perhaps the tone is a little sharp. “––But we have a problem. I told you that bringing me to the desert would be a bad idea.”

She steps closer then, (so that she can more easily protect the younger deity if need be) so that she can lower her voice.

“I have explained to you before that––as the personification of Order––Chaos and monsters are drawn to me, right?”

Despite the tone, it’s not really a question. In fact, it might be an accusation.
