#kiwiberries from @melissasproduce - picked these up @wegmans in #bridgewater. Grape sized non fuzzy bite sized versions of #kiwifruit .

Instead of Bali g who large loaves decided to split one half of the kefir kneaded dough and shape it into small rolls and bake it in a cast iron scone / biscuit pan. Waiting to cool before it gets eaten as caprese sandwiches.
Preparing for the latest nor’easter by baking#bread. Kneaded the dough with a mix of diluted #kefir , proofed and baked it in a @lecreuset #balti (The smaller 2 qt size) .
#kadipakoda - a beloved traditional dish made with #yogurt and #garbanzoflour simmered with d epfried dumplings or #fritters . I added the #bananablossom fritter I’d made earlier. Plan to serve this with hot plain #basmatirice . #glutenfree #vegetarian
#fritters made with #bananablossom . It takes longer to prep and chop the immature blooms than it takes to dry and scarf down these nuggets. The chopped blossoms are mixed with #chikpeaflour , #riceflour and spices including dried #mexicanoregano and deep fried. You can pair it with just about any condiment you want, but the easiest within reach was a bottle of #tomatoketchup and #chatmasala . #glutenfree #vegan #f52grams

#guava - just the way I like it. Mildly sweet, yet with that snappy crunch unique to the almost ripened fruit. Quartered and dipped into a mix of salt & chili powder.
It’s not just the fruits that are edible when it comes to a banana plant.. the stem (the core to be precise) is used in #southindia to make a delicate tasting #kootu in a #coconut , #cumin and Arbil #chili sauce. The stem is diced (immersed in a dilute kefir solution to prevent oxidation), boiled in #turmeric fortified water with #curryleaf until the grassy vegetal aroma fades away and then simmered in the spiced coconut blend. A tempering of #mustard and red Chili finishes the dish. #glutenfree #vegan
