alex hadn't forgotten, had he ? the mere idea prompted the girl to widen her eyes -- for a birthday spent without her brother, wouldn't be much of a birthday at all. but the notion was sent away almost as quickly as it appeared, because her brother never forgot anything! he was only being silly. && this is why she couldn't suppress a smile as she looked to him, the chair squeaking beneath her as she bounced away her excess excitement.

❅;; Black specks clouded her vision, both eyes snapping shut a moment as she worked to regulate her breathing. Liv was notorious for overdoing it when it came to exercise, and while she knew it had potential for danger, she simply couldn't help herself.

{ --- she liked being pushed past her limit, her breaking point for it made her feel accomplished, strong.

[ two emotions she never seemed to carry in abundance.

Carefully, she sat, covering her face with her hands.

A soft smiled appeared at the corner of his lips when he noticed the woman’s cheeks turning red. She looked so restrained; yet her gestures were selling her out. Charles could only appreciate the spectacle she was offering him.

“Alright then let’s try another approach, shall we?” The young man bowed his head a bit – the height difference between the both of them was quite outraging. How could a woman be so tiny? Slowly he pursued “There must be a few things that you enjoy out in this world; how about sharing one with me and I’ll see if I can make it happen; would that be something doable?”

❅;; The question proved a bit challenging to Liv. What did she enjoy? Her brother, for one, but she knew that this man wouldn't find that to be an acceptable answer.

Then there was painting -- one of her favourite pastimes, yet if he was looking to make her smile -- an act that seemed so foreign to her now -- she wasn't sure what to say.

So, she simply said the next thing that came to mind.

❝I-I-- Well, I really like Keeping up with the Kardashians.❞

The moment she said it, she began to regret it. { -- way to make yourself look like a total loser, Liv.

Brow furrowed, she raked a hand through her hair -- a nervous habit, one that she'd acquired over many years of butchering social situations.

Yet, as embarrassed as she was, she couldn't keep from asking the one question that'd been plaguing her since he initially approached.

Her eyes hit the floor. A frown creasing her lips, as she wills away the tightening in her chest. When her friend finally reveals her reasoning, Liv sighs -- she'd been in that situation many a time, though unfortunately running away had not been an option for her, as she needed it to graduate.
