How to get Robin in the future... The Early Bird Preorder is SOLD OUT. This was a very small edition (limited to ONLY 10 dolls) because these dolls are Artist Samples that come to me blank from the casting studio and I will hand-paint myself. This early sale greatly helps in funding the setup costs involved in producing a new sculpt and helps me know how much interest there is in the doll. I am so happy to see there is a lot of enthusiasm for Robin! ❤️ I know that in limiting the edition that means some people were unable to get Robin this time, so here is more info about future orders. Once I paint the Artist Sample dolls I will send them to participants of the early preorder and I will also send my painted masters to the casting studio. After approval of their master copies, then I can run an official preorder for Robin. This will happen later this year. Robin is a completely new doll sculpt and body. Joining this early bird preorder will help me pay for the setup costs and let me know the interest in this doll. 🌼 What's the SAME as regular preorders: - You will receive a nude doll with random glass eyes. - The doll is professionally cast in resin like all my dolls (the photo you see here is a rough PLA prototype). 🌼 What's DIFFERENT about this preorder: - No layaway is offered this time (future preorders will have extended layaway). - Quantity is limited to only 10 dolls (5 each in peach and nutmeg). - Dolls will be hand-painted by me (I'm not charging extra for this). - You will get the dolls at the earliest possible date because these are my artist samples (still about a 6-month wait). - There may be minor changes between these artist samples and future dolls (for instance the headcap and the hands will be updated with magnetic attachments). #forevervirginia #dollartist #bjd #bjdpreorder #bjdsale

Posing gallery for Robin - Although this is just a prototype printed in PLA, and not the poured resin that she will be made from, I am still proud of her posing abilities! This doll body is definitely my most flexible and elegant creation to date. 🥰 #forevervirginiarobin #dollartist #bjd #doll

After testing out several size variations, I still like this version of Robin the best. She stands about 13.5 inches / 34cm tall. I also liked a smaller version and will possibly make a "junior" size in the future with similar but shorter proportions. Robin is pictured here with several other dolls I've created. She finally told me her name. It's Robin! ❤️ I'm doing a final size test and printing at 90% and 110% to see how I like it. Then this doll is off to casting and I start the looooong wait for samples. 😭 At least I will have my prototype to play with in the meantime. #dollartist #bjd #doll #3dprinting

sculpting > printing > sculpting... it’s an all-day cycle here until I get this doll finished and off to casting. I think I’ve filled up about 3 gallon bags of parts in the process of testing and refining and redesigning... and I haven’t even started jointing the arms yet!! 😰 My husband took this bag of rejects to school for the art teacher to share with her class so that was cool.
