How about we ignore that three month hiatus and enjoy these photos from last summer! I still have quite a bit of summer content to get through but don’t worry, I’ll have a few autumn and winter sets soon.

The birds in these photos are Whisky jacks/Grey Jays/ Canada Jays. They have 0 fear and landed in my hand to eat some trail mix (so mad I don’t have that video!) When we got to the summit of the mountain we actually saw the same group of them harassing some other hikers for holding out their hand but not giving them food. Must be a trail tax.

Bonus fun fact: this was the hardest hike I’ve ever done and I actually almost fainted! Please remember to drink water and take breaks when needed ESPECIALLY when doing harder hikes in high temperatures! I promise you won’t upset your group.

Core? Aesthetics?? Confused

I decided to venture beyond Tumblr to see what other sites have to offer in this whole "Core" thing. Being most were in English, I was a bit lost. But I managed as much as I could. I did find one that was Bowynn but it really did not help. I ventured to several sights and it made me more confused/lost about it all.

And not just Adventurecore but a lot of other cores that I do not understand or am into. But I looked anyway.

What I found were videos, 98% were female narrated and the other 2% were by gay guys. Now I am not prejudice at all. But it made me feel that I am more alone than before. And to make matters worse, all were being narrated by "kids." That is to say 19 and younger. Which is sad, to say the least. Do I even fit into this whole "core" thing in the first place???

I am just your average 25 years old, straight Bowynn, pagan, male, that just has a huge fondness for adventure, deep fantasy, rusticness, wildlife, simplistic living, history. And I would love to "live it" if I could. But everything I find, even here, seems to say Core aesthetic stuff is for gay teens. And if I were to join a physical group of such people, they would look at me and think "Who invited the old straight man?"

The only site that I did not feel like I was alone was Youtube where Adventurecore music and sounds were the video.

So can someone tell me; is this whole "aesthetic core" stuff just for teens and gays? I am not being negative. I am just trying to figure it if I should even continue using such terms as "adventureCore" and other related terms. Are there any other 25 year old straight guys out there like me. Or am I even more alone as I already feel??

Howdy! I may not be the best to answer this since well; I do fall into the underaged and queer category.

Cores and aesthetics are for everyone and I’m sorry you feel this way, but I can confirm that you are not alone. I don’t do public discord servers generally but I was in an adventure server for awhile and there were definitely older folks and non queer folks in there: nature is for everyone to enjoy.

I believe the general reason that most of the community is queer folk and underaged folk is that it offers an opportunity to be away from the society that will not have us and an escape from stressors such as school, unsupportive families ect.

Not sure how much this helps but I thought I’d add in my own two cents: there are definitely adults in the community and there are definitely non queer folks here too.

There was a rainstorm on the first day of my trip, very fortunate to have gotten my tent set up and a tarp over it in time haha. We went to Walmart for some last minute food items and a coffee kettle and when we came out the parking lot was absolutely flooded. The drainage systems couldn’t keep up and I wish I was exaggerating when I said that it was up to the car doors on some smaller cars.

I went on a small walk once we got back from the store to get a few photos for you guys. Sadly none of the photos and videos seem to fit nicely together as a set so I think I will be making separate posts for them. This is one of my favourite photos, feels like something out of a Lo-fi study video.

Howdy!

I’d like to officially announce that this blog will be on hiatus from August 7th-20th

My family is going on a two week long camping trip thingy and I won’t have access to wifi, I should have a lot of content when I come back since this trip is supposed to be packed with hiking

(and hopefully bird watching,,, my parents don’t want me running off unsupervised and I’m not sure I’ll be able to convince them to sit and stare at birds for awhile with me haha)

And yeah I dig into them a bit more when I saw that reblog and after very little research,,,, w ha t. Nature is so cool y’all. Also ghost pipe is such a swanky name, sounds like a messed up musical instrument. Tell your father I say thank you for identifying that creepy little thing, it had a bee on it :)

I like how the photos came out, It was at the very end of the trail and I realized I didn’t take a single photo on the hike for the blog and I thought It’d make up for it.

Some of the prettier photos from the demon hike. Most of these aren’t even from the mountain but the logging roads to get to the mountain.

Some photos from the worst hike I’ve been on in awhile, won’t go in detail but most of the paths were overgrown to the point of being unusable so we were pretty much navigating without a map while out of cell range.

We made it out okay but that hike was so hard and painful for no reason (we had to cut though a logging yard lol, looks as hard to walk on as it is.) and also?? You have to walk 5KM on a big ol logging road before you can even get to the mountain. Only notable bird was a juvenile red tailed Hawk being super vocal.

But seriously y’all, trail maintenance is important some areas were barely walkable but quite dangerous.

If anyone knows what kind of beetle this is let me know! My friend and I saw like five of them in one day two weeks ago. I’ve never seen them before them (than again I don’t pay as much attention to bugs as I do other things, still very curious! It’s very pretty. And stupid.)
