Like a Worm from a Bird || Elishama || Motive Response
Elishama’s decision was immediate, but once the time comes to announce it, he’s ready as ever. The contestants are summoned, and he boldly takes the lead. He seems pretty self-assured, at least. Â
“Remember everyone… avert your eyes. This may get… unpleasant.”
As they arrive, Elishama mans his place at his podium, hood tucked over his head.
Curiously, his mask is missing.
“Kyuu, I know not how you work. I know only of your power, and of the choice you have laid before me. What I also know… is that there was never a choice to begin with.”
He grips the edges of his cloak, before tilting his chin upward just a bit.
“You see… I came to this island, for one reason only. Many moons ago, I foresaw my living mother’s grisly demise… and in preemptively fulfilling her dying wish, I found myself here. On this cursed land, where apparitions of the dreamscape run wild.”
“While I admit I did not initially foresee the power you would wield here, I knew that only here could I prevent fate from putting my mother into an early grave.  This naturally means fate would redirect its wrath to me… but know this, Fakemon.”
“I will not go down without a fight.”
Well that made absolutely no sense. All the same, Elishama grips the clasp of his cloak, yanking upward to remove it entirely with a dramatic flourish.Â
He tosses it to the side, then faces Kyuu fully.
“LOOK UPON ME, IF YOU DARE!  THE TRUE POWER OF MY COUNTENANCE– Sensei could barely withstand it on their own; do you truly think you stand a chance!? I have to laugh!”
“MAY YOUR BLOOD BE THE FINAL STAIN YOU LEAVE ON THIS UNHOLY LAND.  BEGONE, THOT.”
