Got another permanent bracelet today! 🌊🐚🤍

Isla’s school is having a culture parade tomorrow and they want all of the kids to make a poster for it. Originally I was annoyed because 8 days left of school, be so fr right now lolol 🙃 BUT it actually came out so cute. I love our little family’s story! 🥹

May was a goood reading month!

I had tried reading The Deal once before— last summer I think? It was decent. The show is *amazing* though. Started that on Friday night and I am unhealthily obsessed lol. I feel the opposite about Heated Rivalry, I think the show is a little overhyped but the Shane/Ilya books are the best part of the Game Changers series. I finished The Long Game last night and absolutely loved it. I think it was my favorite one of the six 🥲

Was disappointed by Our Perfect Storm, Looking for Alaska was a book club pick that I surprisingly hadn’t read before, and listened to Strangers on audio— really loved it!

It was so nice visiting my sister. I’m glad I waited until she was home instead of rushing up to see them in the hospital. I think it was much more impactful, I was able to help her with her pump, handled the household chores, helped with the dogs and answer any first time mom questions. I feel like that’s the kind of support I wished I’d had freshly postpartum after an emergency c-section. My husband was/is great but it’s still a lot! And of course all the baby snuggles. She’s truly the sweetest, easiest baby! 💗

Isla had her first field trip today, hopefully she is having fun! She woke up so excited to ride the bus for the first time lol! Tomorrow after school, we are off to see my in laws at the beach! Lots of travel coming up for my husband for work, my cousin’s going to come visit, almost done with school, we’re headed back to New England at the end of next month….Busy busy here!

It is hooooot here. Unpleasantly so lol the high is like 96 degrees today. I can’t wait to get down to the beach.

And some spring snaps! We had some good weather at my sister’s house, we enjoyed some patio time! And planted these daisies today in my lil snail pot. Cute cute 🌸🐌 There’s still a lot I want to do in the backyard but I have to start somewhere lol.

Came to see my baby and I am in heaven!

She is so sweet and small and snuggly! My sister gave her my name as her middle name 🥹😭 I just love her so much.

omfg I called into the HOA meeting because I’m trying to be more involved locally and there were only EIGHT MFING PEOPLE on that call lolllll I had to talk!!! I wasn’t prepared! I just wanted to sit and listen 😩🫠

I fear that the amika hair product I got for Mother’s Day lives up to the hype 😭 It smells amazing, the texture is good, and it does what it says. Shit lolol 💸

I am an aunt!!

My sister had her daughter this morning. I have rarely felt anything positive about Isla’s traumatic birth beyond feeling grateful that we both survived, but my sister ended up with an urgent c-section and today I am glad for my own experience so I can walk this with her. The big sister role never ends 🫶🏼💗

I had the best, most indulgent Mother’s Day. My husband took both kids to do the grocery shopping this morning so I could sleep in and read. They brought home coffee and donuts 🙂 Then we went to the park, the kids played at the playground for a while before we had a picnic lunch. Then walked over to the dog beach. It was 80 and sunny today, so nice to spend the day basking in the sunshine!

At some point last year, I created an Amazon wishlist for myself. I add things to it periodically so my husband has some guidance for gift ideas. I have a really hard time asking for things (and also spending money on myself) so this is a win for both of us! He bought a couple things off of the list, including some luxe hair products that I would have felt SO guilty buying for myself. I took the longest, most relaxing shower so I could try them out and I love them! He picked out a couple other things for me too so I was still surprised, the softest pajamas and a cute cup! Isla made me a couple things at school and I will absolutely treasure the one with her picture, it’s so cute. We’re having takeout for dinner, my choice, and cake for dessert.

Feeling so spoiled, loved and relaxed!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you out there 🤍

Our cutie little neighborhood had an armed forces/first responders parade today. Our veterans, police, fire department, school marching band, etc. They also held the first annual bike decorating contest, all of the kids that participated rode their bikes in the parade too 🥹 There was a little after-party too with chick fil a, a bounce house and balloon animals for the kiddos. So cute!

It feels really special living here 🤍

We are having someone new over our house today for a playdate (because Isla volunteered me to paint this girl’s nails lollll 🤪) and I’m spending my time rearranging the fridge magnets and the pantry. Are you like this too, or are you normal? 🙃

Just submitted Logan’s Pre-K application! I have no idea when we’ll find out if he was accepted or not but I cannot believe we are here already! 😭

april reads!

Next week is teacher/staff appreciation and every day has a theme…and starting 5/7, they’re doing an ABC countdown to the end of the year for Kindergarten, so 26 themed days! There is a theme every day for the rest of the school year!

What!! 🥲

Kind of got myself into an uncomfy situation with the neighborhood kids lol I play outside with my kids every afternoon, weather permitting. I have a bag with some outside toys and we blow off some steam after school!

This has attracted a lot of other kids to play with us which is fine! I’m happy that there are a lot of neighborhood kids, and they’re welcome to play with anything we bring outside! There are 7 other kids who come to play depending on the afternoon. Sometimes they all come lol. But there’s this pair of siblings who basically have no rules at all and l don’t like how they encourage my kids to go past their boundaries 🙃 They also ask to wash their hands in my house and for drinks and things and idk lol go to *your* house and come right back?! I will give water, I’m not a monster lol but it’s just kinda awkward. Where are all of the other parents lollll these kids (ages 4-8) just free roam the neighborhood? I kinda feel like I run a summer camp in the afternoon, I didn’t sign up to watch anyone else’s kids. One of the girls told me I’m in charge of her and her brother on Monday 🫠 No tf I am noooot lol 🙆🏼‍♀️

Anyway. It’s been rainy the last couple days and I’m sort of glad to get a break from it 😬 It’s awkward because Isla and this one girl are friends but the more time they spend together, the less I feel like our parenting aligns and that’s hard. Especially because they live SO close to us, it’s hard to set any kind of boundaries. They knock on my door all the time to see if the kids can play.

I’m about to just start taking us to the park every afternoon instead of playing in the yard lmao ✌🏼
